  1. I used a combination of round and flat files to blend mine in followed by some fine sandpaper to smooth out any file marks. There's generally a lot of material in there so don't be afraid to do some hacking.
  2. I've actually had great luck so far with the Remington bulk pack from Wally World out of my FN....not so good of luck with it running the Winchester bulk though for some reason. If you can find a place that sells Estate stuff (ie. Cabelas) I'd go that route though as they seem to be a much better option and run about the same price per case.
  3. Ah crap......I don't have a 54.666 yard zero! Better go back to the range
  4. I used a combination of files, Dremel and sandpaper on my SLP. Look at the picture of the one Predator Tactical did to give you an idea of where to cut. It's really not that hard, just take your time
  5. Great video Scott. Thanks for taking the time to put that together!
  6. I've been wondering the same thing ever since I first messed with a double stack....how to make my SS grip feel the same. I'm surprised that nobody has come up with a replacement grip that makes them feel similar.
  7. Interesting email you guys got. I wonder if I'll be getting one of those too.
  8. So far I haven't had any problems with this one other than trying to get the 140mm mag to hold the number of rounds it's supposed to. I run the 126mm mag with 11-12 rounds in it all the time and have yet to have a malfunction of any sort with it using the +p 230g Rangers or some 230g XTP loads that I had laying around. I will say that with a full mag, it won't drop free, but once a round or two comes out it falls right out. Time will tell on the reliability though, since I've not put that many rounds through this gun.
  9. I agree Thank you to everyone who helped put this on. Definitely worth a few hours drive! I like the longer stages and use of all three guns on every stage!! Should have some video up this week hopefully Had to leave early so hopefully the scores will be up on the website soon.
  10. I agree with you that the LoadTwo belt holds the shells way too tightly when it's new. I left mine loaded for like a week and put it out in the sun for a day (loaded) and left it in the truck the rest of the time in 85+ degree weather. Saturday night was the first time I practiced with it and after around 10 times of loading 8 I was able to get down into the 7-8sec range about 50% of the time. The rest were still under 10 sec. I then shot my first match with the system the next day and although it still holds the shells tight, it has loosened up. For anyone getting a LoadTwo belt, I'd recommend filling it up and leaving shells in it for a few days and then practice. The key to getting the shells out smoothly seems to be pulling straight out. It holds them too tight so if you try to pull to the side too much you'll mess up your grip on the shells. That all being said, I had a ton of compliments/interest in the system yesterday at the match and I'm definitely faster with it than I was with weakhand loading 4 at a time. YMMV
  11. I run the Fusion magwell/main spring housing on my Spartan.
  12. It seems I'm of the complete opposite to most that have replied. I'm all for helping or being helped by my squad-mates I'd rather the placing come down to who shoots the best, rather than be decided by someone forgetting a target, or running out of ammo or something. To me, shooting sports should be more about the shooting and less about all the memory stuff. If you rely on someone to coach you through the stage you're obviously not going to go as fast as someone who is able to plan effectively and follow their plan. That being said, I don't believe anyone should have a designated "coach" with them on the stage. If the other shooters in your squad help, that's fine, but don't bring your shooting coach with you on stages I'm RO'ing
  13. 1. Not being able to give/take assistance to/from other shooters during the stage. 2. 3-gun matches that you don't shoot all three guns at least 75% of the stages. 3. Stages without multiple shooting options. 4. Matches that have no relief from the weather (hot, cold, rainy, etc.) 5. Stages that are either way longer, or way shorter than the rest that create a backup. More thought should be put into the flow of the match sometimes.
  14. It's my understanding that early 5" Tacticals did in fact have a full length dustcover/rail and somewhere along the way they changed to how the OP's looks. STI had some full length ones at the 2011 SHOT Show and my brother and I each ordered one. I believe they intended on adding them to their line, but I don't think it actually happened so for all I know we may have two of a slightly unique STI. The frame dimensions are the same as my Edge and as you see, the rail does not stick below the frame like the older model pictured. To answer the other question, I wanted a railed hi-cap .45 and when I saw the full length dustcover version at SHOT I had to have it. It honestly was either that or a XD 45 just because I was after the capacity.
  15. Congrats....I have to say I'm a big fan of mine!! Quickly turned into one of my favorite ones to shoot! .....and yes, that's a full length dustcover 5", not the 4.15"
  16. In our Super Blackhawks and Freedom Arms .44s we ran the 300XTP on top of around 21.0g of H110 IIRC. Pretty stout charge, but very effective and accurate.
  17. I'm wondering the same as MickB? Anyone have an answer to this?
  18. Kevin, that's actually a great use of that target and I think I'm going to include that in my practice sessions! I agree with you that the spinner is an incredible target and very versatile. We have even used it for a precision rifle target at 300yds. It's really fun to have one shooter trying to spin it and another trying to stop it
  19. If you're getting that much speed from the 75's out of that short of a barrel, I'd say don't mess with it if you're happy with the accuracy. The only thing you'll gain is a little softer recoil impulse like stated above. I was pretty successful at the IRTC, which the TBATC is a spin off of, with a 20" heavy barrel AR shooting 77g SMK's at 2750.
  20. I'm using the goggle strap mount as well. I just took a strap off an old pair of moto goggles and use it as a headband. I think the better way is to attach it to your ear pro...either the side with the flush mount or the top with the goggle strap.
  21. Definitely run the 720 @ 60fps. I'd like to have the Contour+, and will likely get that one next if nothing else just for the ability to bluetooth it to my phone! Battery life will get you through a match pretty easily if you remember to turn the damn thing off when you're done shooting. I wasn't used to having to do that and had several minutes of me walking around after I was done shooting on each stage I'd get an extra battery and at least a 4gb card, more better would be an 8gb or 16gb though Also, listen to robot, he's way better at this video stuff than me....makes mine look like a kindergarten kid made them
  22. I did some searches on the Contour and it looks like a good one. Amazon has the 1050 HD for $138.95 Sounds almost too good to be true on the price. How does the video load with the standard Windows movie program? Is it something even I can figure out? It's super easy to deal with the video as it's just stored in normal video format and Contour has a really simple software to download/store the videos if you choose to use it. That is a heck of a deal really, I paid $179 a few months ago and thought I was getting a bargain! Check my videos from the NW Multigun Challenge to see some samples...RBros Youtube Channel
