  1. Not for 9MAJOR. Don't try it.
  2. Wow, you guys all millenials at heart or something? A laser uses electronic circuitry AND lenses technically. So it clearly falls under optical / electronc sights. I would agree since all the laser does is project a beam that it could be deactivated and be considered legal. But if at any time I saw a dot on a target it would be immediate bump. BUT I think that should be true for any level of match. I find it fascinating how quickly we as a sport default to, "in a local match this or that should be OK".
  3. Read the rules again. I think you misinterpreted the CO vs Production rules. I think the “submit 500 samples” is simply lowering the requirement from 2000 to only 500 to meet approved list requirements. It needs reworded probably but there is no way a SAO / 2011 will be permitted in CO.
  4. Please be a way! It is getting really old!!
  5. I think they look too big and bulky on an open gun. I might try one on my carbine though
  6. Production guns can be just as low as Open guns. SS Guns have to be much higher though. But I agree it’s easier to clear a race holster without lifting so high.
  7. No other division can be lower than that either. They can be moved forward but not lower
  8. Because sleep apnea causes drowsiness during the day and can be a hazard while driving. If your body weight is up there and you have a certain size neck you must get tested for it.
  9. You can google it. Somewhere there tests that were done to disprove any problems. I think somebody tumbled all day and pulled bullets to check powder etc. Everything fired same as not tumbled at all.
  10. And if it's hit or miss check to see if any build up is in the shell plate where the rounds slide in to. Might be a piece of media of just gunk that keeps the odd round from going all the way in every time.
  11. Oh God..... This will be Chevy VS Ford on steroids! LOL Name any lube made and several people here will swear by it. I like weaponshield personally but hoppes gun oil works too. Many just use engine oil left over in the bottom of the jug to fill small bottles. Lasts forever and works just as well. They all pretty much do the same except maybe frog lube. Frog lube sucks. FYI I typed "gun lube" into the search window and it showed 134 results.
  12. sometimes when the plate is too loose or too tight it doesn't snap into dead center every time.
  13. could be a lot of different things. Is primer punch centered in hole? 100% sure the right locator pins are installed? Is shell plate tight enough?
  14. Oh, that barrel just wants a different load probably. Shorten, lengthen, drop charge, add charge, reduce crimp, increase crimp, etc. No two barrels are the same.
  15. yeah but technically the rule in question says safe condition external safety engaged. You can't engage a grip safety unless gripping the gun and this rule is talking about ready conditions.
  16. A man ought to do what he thinks is right. Tumbling loaded rounds does no harm.
  17. Just as a test, shorten it even more until it drops in.
  18. 25% Nu Finish car wax 75% mineral spirits. (shake well before dropping in about a tea spoon full or so.) It never hurt any BBI's I tried. And no, you won't set off any primers.
  19. for the most part any book on 1911's will cover 99% of the 2011. I also know some gunsmiths will host groups of shooters if you ask them. They will charge a fee typically but it seems a great way to get a lot of gun/builder trivia.
