  1. I think it’s likely that thinner case walls allow bullets to seat easier and hence possibly deeper for a given stroke. But regardless of the reason oals vary by headstamp.
  2. I would stick to 124-125 grain bullets in a Glock. Shorter oal’s mean less powder. Glocks are already being asked to do a lot in Open. I wouldn’t mess with 115’s.
  3. For me it’s not about running as much as it is stopping.
  4. Pretty sure he’s talking new build.
  5. I predicted this on the forums a long time ago and was made to sound like an idiot. Well,
  6. It can be downloaded onto a phone so I don’t need coverage but the phone would have to be on me or in my range bag.
  7. An open 9MAJOR from SVI? When did they start making those again?
  8. While I understand the idea of keeping it digital I personally leave my phone in the truck at matches so for me the instant access isn’t going to be there.
  9. A lot to digest in one fell swoop.
  10. Me too but I think that era has passed.
  11. Then you are not crimping enough or sizing low enough or something. The chamber checkers really only check case dimensions. I load 9mm to 1.18 with all manner of sbullet from Jacketed to plated to coated and they all fine.gauge I don’t think you’re stupid but you are not doing something right.
  12. You just have to pick the gauge up so the rounds fall in. I never would have imagined using a case gauge could possibly be confusing. I drop 9MAJOR rounds in the Hundo and pick it up off the bench and rub the tops of the rounds looking for high primers or rounds that wouldn’t seat properly.

    9mm minor load

To be fair he wanted to sell you stuff.
  14. The chalk stuff is ok for when it’s hot and sweaty but when it rains I use the pole dancer grip enhancer on amazon. Hands stay pretty tacky for a few stages at a time
  15. Call Dillon and insist on a new toolhead. There are documented cases here of them being slightly out of spec.
  16. I personally asked a prominent Dillon rep if I should get a case feeder for my 550. He said ,”no, the beauty of the 550 is it’s simplicity. Keep it that way.”
  17. Take case feeder parts off and see if it works. This will at least give you somewhere to start. The two reasons I sold my 550 and got the 650 were the priming system and the case feeder . The priming set up is indeed the Achilles heel of the 550. And the case feeder is an afterthought that often causes more problems than it fixes.
  18. Too large on a pistol for my taste. I'm a dedicated RTS2 guy in Open.
  19. Ordered a red 510C. I figure since open is my main game I would keep the dot the same color on the PCC. All this time. money and effort and I probably won't even shoot the thing! LOL Open is just too much fun to give up.
  20. Where are you located? I guarantee you there is somebody on here who is close and shoots most of your local matches. I probably take 2-3 new folks to a match every year. It takes a lot of time from my shooting but thats a small price to pay for me to get a new shooter to feel a little more comfortable.
  21. To some extent that is unavoidable. If you do try a match have a buddy video you. In as little as one season you will look back at the video and get a kick out of it. Even if you are an awesome shot you will most likely have the "wrong" gun, gear, ammo, etc etc...... It's that way with any game though. But don't let any of your concerns keep you from getting out and at least try it. There are all kinds of shooters and skill levels but by and large most are great people who will be glad to help. In a match you are not trying to shoot groups. You are trying to hit the targets as fast as you can. Just do it!!
  22. looks like they quit selling them. Both are out of stock discontinued.
  23. Same here. I find it amusing that a shooter will show up at a match without enough mag pouches shooting a high point yet they have a camera on their hat they have to dink around with after MAKE READY. They also tend to have the flip and catch perfected as well.
