  1. Not coaching in my opinion. We do that here if things have potential to get confusing. I have turned to the RO and asked for clarification before as well. No big deal. Now, in my opinion, if he started shooting freestyle on the second string and the RO or anybody said, "Strong Hand!" then that would be a better example of coaching.
  2. I looked around for these at one time and it just seems shooting vendors don't carry them. MidwayUSA didn't even have them. Only place I found them was Amazon and SRS Tactical. They are a little cheaper on SRS Tactical but things are just too easy to return to Amazon if something is wrong with them. And Amazon is hardly a random inter web advertiser.
  3. MBF is definitely more quiet than CF. I think you would be amazed at how much faster it is to reload with a bullet feeder
  4. It sure does but look at Bob Vogels Limited Division Glock . It has a light with no bulb and it’s considered not a light . You can google it or search here for it
  5. Apparently you can take the bulb out of a light and it’s no longer a light.
  6. When I was considering moving to the 650 from my 550 I talked to Brian Enos since he had a Dillon store then. I was contemplating adding the case feeder and he said the beauty of the 550 is it's simplicity and versatility. Basically, the best way to use it is as it comes from the factory. Someday if you want to ramp up Production you can sell it for most of what you paid for it. As long as you are sure you don't want to add a bunch of go fast parts like case feeder or bullet feeder then the 550 will serve you very well.
  7. USPSA now allows slight pressure to make mag lie flat.
  8. SDB only uses proprietary Dillon dies so you can forget about things like Undersized dies to correct set back or micrometer seating dies for ease of adjustment. Also no options for casefeeder or bullet feeder down the road. BUT it’s fully progressive. 550 is not a progressive press. You have to turn the plate by hand. Casefeeder was designed as an afterthought and doesn’t always get the job done. Limited stations for adding bullet feeder. When I bought my 550 somebody on here bet me I would sell it and get a 650 within 6 months. They were almost right. I think I waited a year or so.
  9. Yeah, 170 is max disregard 140 length unless you put an extension on it that makes IT over 170.LOL Amazing how many folks don’t know this. I actually had a chrono guy challenge my 140’s this summer. Ugh...
  10. Oh I believe you but it seems pretty risky these days
  11. Pilot probably got fired too in this day and age.
  12. Can’t speak for the others but the last person I want on my squad is my wife. I truly love her and she helps a ton with putting on major matches. But I am thrilled that she has no interest in shooting competition. Or jewelry for that matter. She also rarely comes into my Reloading room. As for driving women away, that’s nonsense. I love to recruit new shooters but I don’t see them as women, juniors etc. a shooter is a shooter. I’m not changing everything I do to make women more comfortable. They need to jump in and play just like the rest. The women I know who shoot USPSA do just that. They are not coddled and take just as much ribbing as the guys when they screw up.
  13. Well over $40 for a mag in this game is not expensive. Just the way it is.
  14. take the barrel out and drop check the ammo. It should fall all the way in, spin freely and fall out when you flip barrel over. This is known as drop check, plunk test, etc.
  15. I don't know. Piece of masking tape on the end? Get it hard chromed? Check humidity in loading area? Change powder? Who knows, maybe roughing up the end would help break friction? Bead blast it?
  16. 9MAJOR? 9mm is tapered. All of my mags show gaps between rounds. I guess you could bend the spring upward under the follower to point the rounds more skyward but if they feed fine leave them alone.
  17. How much does SV require you put down to order a gun? Heck, you'll have almost two years to save up the balance before gun is built. LOL
  18. That’s one of the pitfalls of “staff day”. RO’s generally travel with squads and shoot. Start positions can vary wildly. This is why RM needs to do staff walk through before shooting starts.
