  1. Oh yeah! I love the show. Rick's mom is a riot and his parody of American Chopper is hilarious when he throws a temper tantrum. Nolan Skilled, but otherwise unremarkable.
  2. I think these guys have been watching too many reruns of Star Trek because that thing sure looks like the Enterprise! Nolan Skilled, but otherwise unremarkable
  3. How do you have your Sizing die set? It should touch the shell plate to fully size the case. Nolan Skilled, but otherwise unremarkable.
  4. Oh that's funny! I though Erik Warren didn't go to the Nationals this year? Nolan Skilled, but otherwise unremarkable.
  5. Just watched Constantine with Keanu Reeves. Geez, if he keeps making these alternate reality movies I'm going to start wondering about his grasp of reality. Oh wait, we're talking about the star of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure! Actually the movie was pretty good. I especially liked their version of Hell and the archangel Gabrielle who delivers one of the better lines in the movie. Peter Stormare as the Devil didn't have enough air time in the movie to really develop his character. For more reviews check out Eggbert and Doper, oh wait I forget that was Bill & Ted's second excellent adventure. Nolan Skilled, but otherwise unremarkable.
  6. I've broken 2 STI and 2 SVI grips. They've all broken at the Mag Catch keyhole on the right hand side. The common symptoms were mushy inconsistent trigger pull from the broken piece rubbing on the bottom of the trigger bow and feeding failures from the magazine/catch moving around. Mine were not caused by incorrect disassembly. I'm pretty sure mine were caused by using fully loaded 29 round big sticks exclusively and aggravated by lots of dry fire reload practice using empty mags. Nolan
  7. Clockwise moves the rear sight to the RIGHT Counterclockwise moves the rear sight to the LEFT Move the rear sight in the direction you need to move the point of impact. In your case turn the screw Counterclockwise. Nolan
  8. OH the humidity, er humanity of it! Nolan
  9. If you take US61 N into Hannibal don't plan on making 65mph. Last year it was very slow, lots and lots of construction and one very nice 4 inch high step in the pavement that I hit at 85+ trying to make up for lost time (I think I'm about an inch shorter now after compressing my spine when I hit it!) 10. Where can I order some of those T-Shirts? I want some of the "Eat Pork Or Die" [both English and Arabic versions] and "Goat - it isn't just for breakfast any more." [both English and Arabic versions] shirts for my next B-B-Q Nolan

    Squib Load

I have some video from the 2001 Limited Nationals where the RO clearly thought the shooter had a squib but did not do anything to stop the shooter. The RO ducked every time the shooter tried to fire the gun. Finally the shooter gave up and stopped himself. 2001 Limited Nationals Squib Nolan
  12. I second Eric! What video editing software are you using? Several years ago Erik Warren and I shot a stage at the Silver Buckle match in exactly the same time. I had videotaped Erik with his camcorder and Erik had taped me using my camcorder. We used our camcorders to play back the videos at roughly the same time so we could see where I gained time on Erik shooting on the move and Erik kicked my butt shooting steel then both of us arrived at the last shot at the same time. I would have loved to do a superimposed video like these, but I don't think we were standing in the same places when we videotaped. Nolan

    Ooops!

WAIT! Let's let "Mythbusters" do it. I bet they're crazy enough (sorry Alan) to try it and they sure are better funded! Nolan

    Ooops!

After reading the article in Shoot! magazine on two bullets in one case I'm skeptical of the claims of the lite charge theory. Considering the number of rounds fired by Cowboy Action Shooters and PPC shooters with very light powder charges versus the number of guns blown up I would put my money on 2 bullets in one case. The Light Powder Detonation theory sounds more like a good CYA because it only appears AFTER the gun goes Ka-Boom. Nolan

    Ooops!

Hello Benny, I'm interested in the low powder charge theory because I can't find any documented tests that were able to duplicate the detonation theory. Can you point us to any tests by the powder companies, gun companies, proof houses that have documented cases? Nolan
  16. Two hints Mark. Use your sights and wait until I'm not standing sideways (more target area!) Nolan

    Ooops!

"Shoot!" magazine published an article by the editor where they blew up 3 cowboy single action .45 Long Colts. (Geez, it takes 3 blown up guns before they stop using the same batch of ammo!) To make a long story short, they were using very small powder charges with cast lead bullets. The wax lube on the lead bullets built up on the seating die and eventually bullets started to occasionally stick to the seating stem so they would pull back out of the case. Next case in line they hand start a bullet in place, the seating stem pushes that bullet down and the increased force leaves the stuck bullet seated in the normal position on top of the first bullet. Two bullets in a .45 Long Colt case doesn't leave much space for the 'small' powder charge and "Kaboom!" I suspect the same thing happened with the PPC crowd that was blowing up guns with 2.8 grains of Bullseye and a 148 grain wadcutter bullet. They just refused to notice all the primed, empty cases, and spilled powder in the loaded cartridge bin! That just can't happen in a 38 Super even with 115 grain bullets, the case just isn't tall enough. Nolan

    Rough Sex

Yup, just remember a recent poll found that only 75 percent of males kissed their wives Good-Bye when they left home to go to work, but 95 percent of males kissed their homes Good-Bye when they left their wives. Nolan
  19. I've had my old Caspian frame welded up in 5 places. It was plated with a Chromium Carbide finish. Gary at Caspian had me send it to Accurate Plating in Florida. They stripped off the plating, welded up the cracks and then replated the gun. No problems until the comp finally cracked. From the looks of your frame it wouldn't be a problem to have it welded up. I don't know if Accurate still does the warranty work for Caspian. The website is Accurate Plating and Weaponry Nolan
  20. I'm working on it! I will be at the Ione match this month barring a Monsoon. Nolan
  21. Damn, I hate to hear that. Without Everett, who's going to be coming up to me asking to borrow enough ammo to finish the match? Uchida, you out there man? Nolan

    Ooops!

OUCH! I am so glad you're OK! It sure looks to me that the barrel may have had some problems. In the photos it looks like there is some old discolored break right at the top locking lug area and then the rest of the break is new. I wonder if the barrel fractured when it was proof fired, then finally gave way when you fired the 8th shot. Nolan
  23. I just watched "Stone Cold" with Tom Selleck this weekend. No, it's not the stupid biker movie with Brian Bosworth. No, it's not WWE. It's a cop movie. I really liked this movie, maybe because I like Selleck's views on guns. Good plot, good acting, good characters (Suitcase and Molly), a couple of really good lines like "You just have to eat that donut, don't you?", "You were brought in, in handcuffs, by a 120 pound woman!", "I promise I won't let them assault you again!", "There's a dog..." (said at least 4 times!) It's not a real fast paced movie, somewhat predictable, ok very predictable, but most cop movies are when you know who the killer is from very early in the movie. Unfortunately Mimi Rogers isn't aging well, but who is? Nolan
