  1. At least you didn't do it with a dremal. My smith just quits talking when I metnion I used a dremal to "do some work".
  2. Did Kepa really finish 9th shooting a round gun? He won a stage?
  3. I like my burris mounts. You will have 12 screws to deal with when mounting.
  4. The STI button that Blue Edge linked is also very tall as well as having the paddle. I grind the paddle part off for my single stack with Burner grips and it makes it tall enough to facilitate dropping the mag. I do use the extra power mag button spring in all my guns.
  5. My last Burris came with two sets of caps , one with and one without mounts on top.
  6. When you load long you need to be careful that the ejection port on the slide is long enough to accommodate your loaded round leaving the gun. I had the same issue several years ago and when my gunsmith hand cycled a round out there was not enough clearance and the round could (and did) get pushed back onto the ejector. I ruined a perfectly good pair of shorts.
  7. I had a chance to run this live today using the mag pointed at the rear sight mentioned above. I came in about 1.9 most of the time. I may be able to clean a tenth or two off of this.
  8. Easy to do business with quality people.
  9. On a limited gun are you grasping the slide from the bottom after seating the mag?
  10. I am trying to find a solid time for a M or GM on a table start with an unloaded (hammer down) limited gun, mag on the table and let's say a 12 yard open target. I have added this to my dry fire drills and my par usually comes in around 2.0 I am guessing this is a tad slow for my class (M). I am getting a good sight picture and not just dropping the hammer. IF the snow ever melts I will try this live and post my results. Any experience out there? I did try the search function and like my pick up it was a bit slow.
  11. I am traveling to LA pretty soon and will rent a car for three of us. I have not rented a car since I was 20 years old and that was in the 80's. I have never made a car payment as we save our money and buy decent used cars but this means I only carry liability insurance. I would appreciate any advice from seasoned travelers on protecting myself financially while there, what insurance or "package" should I buy, as well as any advice on who to use or not use.
  12. Jerry Barnhart made a set pf burner grips that were thick. I have them on my gun now and it feels a lot like a 2011. I put some sand blast material on them and they are great.
  13. I have an H2 from many years ago. It requires a 20 minute base and has not only the busy MOA but a range finding insert on the upper left, all in the second plane. It sat in the safe for 10 years and I just mounted it on a 308. Update me when you give it a go.

    Moving!

Good club close to you and another in Billings. Three hours to Missoula also. Give me a PM if you need info regarding the opportunities.
  16. Hey Tim, Is Idaho Falls in the MOUNTAIN TIME ZONE? This might be a surprise to some shooters.
  17. someone made a cheap version of this. It was hard on my hand and tall. I ground off the paddle and use it on my single stack .45 with the thick Burner grips. It is just right.
  18. I shot with Flying Change today who uses the DOH without a cant. We compared wrist breaks and hers is A LOT more than mine with the muzzle forward cant. LeRoy, I will move my holster back.
  19. Ok, am I really the only guy using a muzzle forward cant? I think if you try it you will see that your wrist breaks on a no cant holster more than on a muzzle forard cant. Try it and see what you think. I run my production and limited holsers that way.

    Rap

LeRoy, I know you bust a move when no one is lookin.
  21. You may already be a GM at 8 yards. Start moving targets back and covering them with no shoots and develop your skills. Now get rid of time not shooting. Viola GM.

    Wedge

I started this thread six years ago and have not seen a wedge other than my own. I am surprised to see others like it also.

    Too Big

My computer friend calls this a ID 10 T error (ID10T). Uses it on me a bit.
