  1. I ran a 6 round stage like this at an IDPA match a while back that was advertised as 'revolver friendly'. It was after the major matches for the season, so we wanted to encourage people to shoot a different gun for fun. I simply stipulated that all ammo had to start in a small canning jar. I picked the jar size such that a moon clip, speedloader, or compact (G26 size) magazine would fit, but a full size mag wouldn't. I got the idea for that somewhere on this forum. I got a little bit of grumbling, but all the guys who brought revos loved it. I would never do it more than once a year or for more than 6 rounds.
  2. Seriously. Shooting this is now on my goals list.
  3. Nope, fully serious. I placed the order 9/22 and had the barrel in less than a week. I emailed the address listed upthread. It was a woman who called me back for the CC info, but I don't recall her name.
  4. Weird. I emailed them last thursday (9/22) and got a call back an hour or two later. My barrel was on my doorstep when I got home from a business trip on Wednesday 9/28.
  5. I talked to Mark today. He had a mess of a week at work, but the next batch is going out this weekend, including one for me.

    S&W 1911

I had one of these for a while too and it ran great. I only sold it because I never carried it so I had no reason to have the lightweight gun. I now have a stainless full size set up for single stack. The only downside of the SW1911s is oddball proprietary sight cuts. Hopefully with the popularity of the E series sight availability will get better.
  7. It's in the huge 930 thread. Soon has been given multiple definitions. The one I'm putting stock in is announcement at SHOT in January and shipping sometime after that. That's why I bought a regular 930 and an unported 24" barrel.
  8. Also, if you have time to wait, the benny hill influenced competition version is coming soon for about $700. Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
  9. The SPX doesn't have chokes, which will be a big problem on farther targets.
  10. I've used 'stoke it, stroke it, flick it, and stick it' in group practices before, but I'd never do it in a sanctioned match. A friend of mine has the list of commands for both games taped to the back of his timer so he doesn't mix them up.
  11. Mixing up commands from other sports is no big deal. I really get annoyed at the more off the wall ones though. It just sounds very unprofessional for a major match and has the potential for confusion by non-native speakers mentioned above. That's especially important for something billed as a world match. I'm not a fan of nod when you're ready, but I've learned to get along. It used to really bug me along with any time they SO waited for me to respond. I'll let you know if I'm not ready, otherwise drive on. I simply don't assume the start position until I'm ready. If it's just a standing start, I leave my hand on the gun until I'm ready to go.
  12. When are they gonna bring those back with a Ben Stoeger signature model?
  13. When I saw open in the results, the first thing I thought of was this thread.
  14. +1 Ben, nice work. I picked you in the who is gonna win nationals thread, do I win a prize?
  15. Looks like our man Ben is leading the production super squad, but there are still 660 points up for grabs.
  16. Greece, like the rest of europe, is 220. Check your laptop charger, many of them these days are multi-voltage supplies. You might be able to get by with just a new input cable or plug adapter.
  17. I bit the bullet and ordered a 930 and the non-ported barrel from mossberg as my usual mail order source had them at a good price. I'm sure they'll announce availability for the JM model tomorrow. I've got 2 shotgun matches and a 3-gun coming up, so I got tired of waiting.
  18. Guys, notice that he's only been shooting at all for a month. Practicing the fundamentals with any 22 will help out a ton. I agree 100% that once he's trying to fine tune his competition game the 22 won't have as much direct transfer, but he's not there yet. I'd recommend getting a Ruger Mk3 and shooting the hell out of it for a while. Eventually consider the conversion and you can always turn the Ruger into a bullseye gun. That's what I did when I started and I think it worked out well.
  19. IIRC, Rob talked with several companies that do online voting, and no one would beat the cost of the current CPA firm.
  20. Because he beat you. Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
  21. He mentioned in the Top Shot thread that he had to choose between nationals and the world shoot and chose the world shoot.
  22. What a race in Revo. Jerry is 1% ahead of Matt with 2 stages to shoot today.
  23. Which division is more popular at the matches you shoot? Around here, in CDP you'll be shooting against only a few other people, while SSP is by far the biggest division. I like having lots of competition to compare myself against.
  24. Season 3 is still very good. There are some slower episodes setting up stuff for the nonexistent 4th season, but there's still some good stuff. Once you watch 1 and 2, you'll want to watch 3.
