  1. While at Area1 this year, I noticed all of the Limcat Team Shooters were using a shortened version of the CMore. I spoke to Johnny about it and he is offering this service. Basically, he is cutting the back portion of the CMore and relocating the on/off dial to the side. He is hard wiring the switch which should make it a bit more reliable. His service also includes one of his new mounts, which moves the CMore forward about 1/2". It looks a little goofy at first, but the idea is to be able to run a traditional upright sight with none of the extraction issues associated with the full CMore body mount. Earlier this year I switched to the RTS2 to avoid extraction issues and liked it until I got to Area1. The bright sun really seemed to bother me and I had a hard time acquiring my dot sometimes, so I am seriously considering this new Limcat set up so I can go back to a CMore. Has anybody seen these yet? For all I know, this may be old news, but it was definitely new to me. I'd love to hear any feedback and see some pics if any of you have any experience with this set up.
  2. I have quite a bit of used brass that I can part with. Have some new TJ brass, as well as used TJ too!
  3. I have 10 on order and I got word that I should see them soon. Fingers crossed!
  4. You can only trim the Joey Hardy spacers to fit the 140 tubes. The ones 170 spacers fit exactly to the bottom of the tube, so you can't fit them to the spacer.
  5. Put a mag together last night using the Permatex Clear RTV. Wasn't sure how much to use, so I went with a fairly light coat. Most likely could have used more, but we'll see how this works out.
  6. How thick is this tape? I would be concerned about it being too thick, causing a tolerance issue.
  7. So, I started having problems with my 170 tubes in 9mm. I was running Dawson SNL pads with the Shooters Connection Spacer and Grams springs/follower. Talked to Dawson and they specifically told me not to use their SNL pads in a 9mm configuration. Mags were turning into salt shakers with relative ease and was having feeding issues as well. Dawson told me the feeding issues were caused by the spacer dropping into the pad and causing the top round to sit back too far in the mag. They said the SNLs can only be used if I can find a way to secure the spacer to the tube, holding in in place and in the full up position. He said he has heard of people using epoxy or sealants, but this seems sketchy to me. What mag configurations are you guys using for the 170 big sticks in 9mm? Looking for suggestions. Dawson recommended the 9mm specific base pads, but they only come in a kit with STI follower and a 140 plastic spacer.
  8. Can you elaborate? Do you have a preference, and if so, is it based on the platform? The reason I ask is because I myself have used both. I have found that I think I prefer a flat trigger on my open gun, while I prefer a curved trigger on my limited gun. I was wondering if others had a similar preference.
  9. I did a quick search for "flat trigger" to see if much has been said about this topic, but couldn't find anything that had a title specifically related to this topic. So... I ask this simple question... Do you prefer a Flat Trigger or a traditional Curved Trigger?
  10. Lots of love for Carver and SJC. No love for GlockWorx? Just curious.
  11. We got a dozen in and they were gone within an hour. Ordered a bunch more and they will be here next week. Stop in and let me know how many each of you want and I will set them aside for you.
  12. Finally got to check out the Taylor Freelance bases for the K mags. I was very impressed with them. They are well built and although they do not have a QD feature like the new Henning bases, they are easy enough to remove with the proper size allen key. At $30, the price is right on these as well. I highly recommend them.
  13. I need some work! Timed myself to determine the difference during dryfire practice last night and I was at least a full .5 slower on the turn. .4 was the fastest I could muster out of 20 or so tries.
  14. Looks good, but I'd like to see pics of the underside. I've noticed there are a number of new magwells on the market recently. Some of them look great, and seem to function very well. For me however, I still prefer the replaceable plastic belly of the Dawson. With the all metal ones, once they get beat up, they get very rough. I like the idea of one made out of delrin.
  15. I heard this when researching my first open gun and purchased a .38SC as a result. The gun was absolutley fantastic, but after trying a few different 9majors, I made the switch myself. I much prefer the 9mm. The difference in recoil is a non issue. I don't have to worry about brass. My ears are much happier and the 9mm is cheaper to shoot. I wish I had never listened to the ".38SC is nicer to shoot" crowd because all it did was cost me a lot of money and create a few issues that I no longer have with 9Major. I realize this is a Chevy VS Ford type argument, so I am not saying the .38Super is wrong for everyone. It was just wrong for me.
  16. I prefer to shoot with better shooters. When I try to go as fast as them, I screw up. However, I still shoot much better with them than I do when I end up on a squad of people with more limited skill sets. Shooting with better shooters forces me out of my comfort zone.
  17. The customer took the gun, so I don't have pics. You can purchase a Cheely mount without the mounting screw holes drilled in it. That way, you can drill and tap screw holes to match the mounting holes on the Tanfolgio frame.
  18. +1 on Akai. Tough to beat his quality and his build time is reasonably short.

    RTS 2

I can only tell you from personal experience and that of three friends that have them. Between the four of us, we own 7 of them and one had to go back to CMore.
  20. I stippled mine with a VERY aggressive pattern and I was nervous about shooting it the first time. Turns out I loved it! My only regret was that I didn't do it sooner.
  21. I have tried both the Nitro Fin and the PT rest. They are both excellent, but I prefer the Nitro Fin for two reasons. 1. I think it looks like it belongs on the gun. It does not look like an after thought. 2. It lays down a little more than the PR or even the Racemaster. I prefer that position on a limited gun, even though I like the more upright position on my open platform.

    RTS 2

I have been using the RTS2 on a Cheely mount on an Akai Katana and I absolutely love it! The O-Ring fix does not bother me. The sight works and I like it WAY better than the upright SlideRide. When you shoot a 9mm, the potential for extraction issues with the upright mount is a much greater concern than an O-Ring in the battery compartment!
  23. We just finished putting a Cheely RTS2 Mount on a Witness Limited. Used the blank version and cut holes to fit the frame. Turned out great!
  24. The only downside to attempting the bonus targets and missing them is the time added. Last shot is last shot. The timer keeps running while attempting the bonus targets.
  25. Proper training for me has been almost non-existant up to this point, and it shows in my lack of progress this past year. I have recently made a concentrated effort to put together a Dry Fire training regime. I am using many of the drills that Ben Stoeger promotes in his latest video. In just one short week of Dry Fire practice, I have made more progress with my draw and reloads than I did in one full year of shooting matches. I appreciate the suggestions in this post and agree that a ton of progress can be made without even going to the range for live fire. For the most part, live fire will be used primarily to validate my dry fire practice going forward at this point. Match training will be a bit different, and I am sure as I improve, things might change, but for now, I am focusing on a variety of different drills that do not include live fire. Time will tell where it gets me, but I am confident that for now, I am on the right track.
