  1. From what I've read, GANS guns, but you I think you have to send him the parts. I think he's around a 2-3 week turn around.
  2. Another thread made me curious. How many of you are current or retired LEO? If so, name the Department or Departments you've worked for..... I'll start: Trophy Club Police Department (reserve) 1991-1992 Weatherford Police Department 1992-1996 Texas DPS 1996 to present Also, please list the USPSA Divisions you shoot and the classification you've earned. Limited = A L-10 = B Open = B SS = B
  3. It didn't come from the factory with hard chrome. Maybe $3500 if it has a plastic grip. $4250 if its a newer one with a steel grip. Just a guess......
  4. I used to carry a 5" bushing barrel 40 but it had a grip tape grip and killed too many shirts. I'll have an Infinity single stack 45 in February that will probably become my primary carry/duty gun.
  5. He is bad ass. Max would probably be my bet for #2.
  6. So to answer your question, exactly.....an Infinity Sight Tracker 4.5" 9mm.....
  7. Obviously we would want all of our Cops to shoot like we do (or think we do), but many don't and never will. Thankfully, most will never have to either. Just the same, I'm glad they are out there roaming the roads, helping deter crime. Because, just maybe, the dirt bags aren't reading this thread and think all cops are Tactical Operators....
  8. I find that story a little odd. Maybe he carried the Sig for all of his City time and only carried the Glock for the last two years. Maybe he was elderly and forgot? Even though lots of cops are not "gun" people, the majority of them would certainly know what kind of pistol they were carrying. In my experience, the majority of Texas DPS Troopers, Agents and Rangers shoot pretty well. Maybe not according to our USPSA standards, but when compared to LEOs in general. As for me, I really didn't care much about pistols or shooting until I made Ranger in 2004. Prior to that, I shot twice a year just like everybody else. I carried the issued Sig 226. But, once I made Ranger, I was able to carry 1911s and that started to change everything. First a Kimber Pro CDP, then three different Les Baers. The game changer was a Wilson Combat CQB in 38 Super. It was so fun and easy to shoot that I started to practice some and shot my first USPSA Match in March 2008. Thanks to some really good folks at the Tyler Good Times Shooters, I got hooked and started shooting more and more matches.
  9. Brandon advised 10oz as was my estimate
  10. It's not a trick, my duty gun is an IMM length (4.5") 9mm Sight Tracker. Or an Open gun minus the comp and Cmore
  11. appx 10 ounces But mine has sights on it.
  12. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=186384&hl= Here ya go!
  13. You already have the Glock and they usually run 100% out of the box. It may be less of a headache to just keep and shoot the Glock. Like Whoops said, 40 minor is pretty sweet. However, IMHO, there is a huge difference between the two and I prefer the 1911/widebody platform compared to any of the polymer production style guns. So, for me, I'd have to ditch the Glock and find a 1911 in my price range.
  14. I had a similar experience with my first open gun. I asked for certain parts to be ionbonded, others to be left silver and for a Dawson Cmore mount. When it arrived, it was all black with a Serendipity (sp) mount. It ran fine and I ended up liking the color afterall, but it was not what I asked for. I like the way Infinity does it. The gunbuilder lets you pick virtually every possible option and then you can add whatever additional custom features want/need. Of course, some people don't consider Infinity custom becaue they only use their parts. But, I wouldn't have it any other way.
  15. All of my loaded ammo goes into a large ammo can. Prior to a match, I case gauge the rounds and place them in Dillon bins. Practice ammo goes straight to the range without being checked. With the Udie I have never and I mean NEVER had a round fail to chamber.
  16. "With respect, is there some data or proof you can offer that backs up your claim that," They are a great safety device that works", and "it is much harder to over or undercharge you cases with powder."? I agree that they work easier if adjusted correctly but haven't seen the proof for these types of safety claims. Just sayin. The only data I can add is I've loaded over 17K (probably over 20K) rounds of 40S&W on my 650 that came with the "new style" device and I've never had a double charge or a quib........it just works.
  17. Mine moves VERY little and does not cause any issues with the loaded ammo.
  18. I had three LBs years ago. One of which never would run, even after three trips back to the factory. I would go back to the springs that made it run until you have over 1K rounds through it. Then make your adjustments. LB slide to frame fits are usually ridiculously tight.
  19. If I had to do it all over again, I'd build this exact same pistol......again. 5.4" Sight Tracker.
