  1. That's why I ALWAYS put a dab of Hoppes #9 behind each ear
  2. Could the barrel be either leaded up or shot out ? Who makes the plated bullet ? Many plated bullets are known for causing accuracy problems.
  3. It might serve as a bayonet if you runout of ammo
  4. I tried the FMJ MG's and they leaded up my comp, badly. Now stick with JHP's, only, either MG, PD or RMR. The PD and RMR are tough to beat on price
  5. I'd start lower than 8.4 - you might need only 8.0 to reach PF 172 - depends on your barrel
  6. Very important to determine the cause of such serious symptoms. If it was NOT lead poisoning, I'd make a serious effort to determine what caused you to feel so poorly
  7. If you're NOT using Slide-Glide, you owe it to yourself to try it - buy a tube and it will last FOREVER. And, it's great stuff
  8. Never tried it, but that would be like loading 160's in a 9mm, I imagine It can probably be done, but only with the correct powder.
  9. I've tried it … with varying degrees of success. It's amazing how close you can be, and still miss if you don't see the sights Best to try it at the practice range, before you squander some points and have to argue that there are really two holes on that target - the R.O. won't believe you, either, BTW
  10. I keep my hands in my pockets, with gloves, until time to shoot - Then, do the best I can
  11. Just took 10 seconds to go from one page to another on my PC at home
  12. Instead of (or rather, along with) daily dry firing. 9mm Minor ? Try .40 Major - bet that will bump you up a bit - low hanging fruit
  13. It should be close. You'll probably discover that the lighter bullet feels a little better
  14. It sure makes a LOT of sense to experiment, as you're planning on doing. I just went the opposite way - started with HS6 and 115's, then went to WAC with 124's ... I saw a slight difference - the HS6 is flatter than the WAC. BUT, that's the LEAST of my problems - shooting The Very Flattest Load would NOT get me from a low B to even a high B So, I bought a TON of WAC and a TON of 124 bullets, and I still have them. Maybe after they're all gone, I might buy a pound of 3N38 and give it a try - but not until I use up a TON of WAC. From my reading here, the 3N38 and the 115 grain bullets is The Best Load. But, I prefer the convenience of NOT having powder sloshing all over my SDB and bullets not separating from the case when being jammed into the chamber
  15. BINGO. It's called "capitalism". Better than state supported socialism.
  16. Only time I'd even think about trying it would be at The Last Target of the stage when I KNEW I couldn't run out of ammo, necessitating a standing reload
  17. I hear you ... That's why I am still using WAC - powder level is nice and low and I ain't spillin' nuttin'
  18. While you're at it, you might want to work up a load with the 3N38 and 115 gr JHP's you have lying around
  19. Wish we had one here in the Orlando area ?
  20. When I had a young family and lived in NJ, it was impossible to shoot - just no time. Moved to a farm in NY and family got more mature - used to shoot on my own farm Now 73 year old empty nester and health matters are currently interfering ..... Different life stages - different situations.
