Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I didnt have any 124s loaded but I tried 115, 147 and 165. All ran fine recoil impulse was less with the heavier. However the 147's "felt" better then 165 But I didnt have time for accuracy testing. I need some 124 to try. I chrono'd everything and I was a bit to much over minor in all my loads. So some work up to do
  2. Cool, I am going to take a long lunch today and try a variety of loads
  3. Maybe it was stuck forward when the previous round ejected?
  4. Has anybody tried 165gr loads in the Taccom ULW? To heavy, to sluggish? I have some for subsonic I think I'll try next range trip
  5. I listened to alot of what you guys had to say and tempered it with my naivety. It has taken me 2 weeks to get parts together but I am ready to test fire my new build. I did not go with a dedicated lower for personal reasons. and the LGS had this F-1 Chassis hanging on the wall . Total weight of the gun is 6lbs 3oz. My wallet is a bit lighter too. Taccom ULW Barrel, Bolt and 2 stage buffer, JP Trigger and Stern Defense Mag Block.. I picked a bad week to let one of my guys to the week off to deal with home issues I hope to get to the range today or tomorrow to start figuring out what loads to work on. I have several different loads already including some 165 gr for subsonic. I am curious what it will like. This is a first setup this type for me.
  6. I saw this and it does look interesting and I have a striped lower already
  7. I have looked at a lot of parts over the weekend and I think I will order a taccom upper and JP trigger. But which is more reliable Glock or Colt lower? I already have Colt mags but if I am going to set up a new rifle I would like it to be as trouble free as possible
  8. I installed the short handguard on the Scorpion and took both out to the range yesterday. I have to say they are better suited as suppressor hosts then go fast guns. The AR was a bit easier to maneuver though. I am thinking I need a new gun
  9. I just converted the Scorpion this morning to short handguard and removed the suppressor. I plan on shooting them tomorrow. I am not very fast with either but they are still fun. I have never shot the scorpion without the suppressor on it. I am looking forward to it.
  10. I have used several infinity and KKM. I dont have any hands on with STI. I used to learn toward Infinity for everything because they needed a lot less finish work. The chamber mouth is throated, the hood is almost pre cut perfect length and they are finish teamed. Only compliant and it is not really a complaint just something to be aware of. They are a smidge larger outside diameter around the chamber and drag on some slides. Lately I have been doing KKM and just dealing with clambering and thrusting and I think I now prefer them over Infinty once all is said and done. KKM gives excellent accuracy and performance but more work to install. Thus the cost difference
  11. I appreciate the practical advice and equipment manufacture options. I have been scanning through these forums in the last couple days. A lot of info to absorb. I like the idea of a 14" barrel.
  12. Well, it seems unanimous that the AR is the way to go, I wondered about the shorter barrel being a bit more recoil and I do like the idea of a longer hand guard. but if I go ahead and go 16" my tax stamp is of no value here Not that that matters its would just be a 3rd upper for this gun. I have felt the JP trigger and that is probably what I will do. I think I would like a lightened upper receiver too....... I see where this is going.
