I wasn't saying it is better or worse, that is impossible to tell without seeing it ste-up, I was just noting that it seems to meet the criteria and is different than the options mentioned. Most likely it will end up being shoot weekhand, dump the mag on the way to table 2, reload and finish 'em off.

On the plane to OK I looked over the stages and I was thinking (shooting production) just grab the case and the pistol and run to table 2. Dump the case and engage the back targets, reload on the way back to table 1. That depends on how far the movement is, but I think it meets the stage description.

I would be very, very sad. I would go with a 4" SVI in .40, going with a cheap gun just wouldn't cut it if I had to only have 1. As much as I like the XD, it can't hang with my 2011's at 50 yards.

Did you check to make sure it is clearing the Striker Safety Block when you did your installation? If it is not clearing it it will slow the striker enough to cause problems. If you need help give me a call. ~ Scott

I hate punching the primer tubes (even though I haven't done it for years) but I would go for the KISS first.

1. Not having a good understanding of what the fundamentals of shooting are or being able to execute them. - Some people don't know how to aim or vaule it, and some people are afraid of ever losing their sight picture, as if they do, they will never get it back. 2. Not understanding why fast shooters are fast, and trying, to emulate what they "think" they are doing. - People don't understand how fast some of the better shooters see and think they are jsut flinging ammo at the targets. 3. Not knowing their skill set and what they are and are not capable of doing. - Trying to do more than you are capable of in a stage, or not doing enough but be overly precise (it just has to be in the scoring zone you want.)

Unfortunately, Tallahassee must be the only town in the US that does not have the stuff locally. I already tried that route to get a small sample, but we have no chemicals / abrasives / sanding / hobby stores here that carry it, and none of the body shops use it for sandblasting media. If you can't find any, send me an e-mail to scott@springerprecision.com and I'll send you enough to do a grip.

As I posted earlier. Nils is not shooting the Nationals this year. He's "that kid". Oops, missed that. I was thinking it would be interesting to see how he sould fare at the big dance. Maybe next year.

What about that kid that is shooting Production in Arizona that beat TGO shooting Limited and Angus shooting Open? I would think he might have some skills to do some serious damage at nationals if he shows up.

As do many other companies. He also sells lots of stuff that's not IDPA legal. Let's try to leave the "Bill Wilson set up the IDPA Rule Book so he can sell more stuff" intimations where they belong - off this board. Duane, Intonations can get lost when typing. Someone easlier stated his paddle release isn't legal, and I was stating he made one that fits in side the rules also, so you short thumbed people need not worry. That was why the smiley face was there. I actually have a SS setup up for L10 with the paddle, and I just switch it to the other release if I were to shot CDP. It really isn't a big deal. Dealing with all the rules can by frustrating for sure (in IDPA AND USPA) when you have guns that are so close to be legal for a division. I have a nice Tagfolio I would love to use in Production (but non Glock or XD single action type guns aren't allowed), and a nice SVI .40 to use in ESP but it has a bull barrel (but I just switched out the barrel to a bushing so now it is ) Knowing that a bull barrel won't give you an advantaged chapped my hide for awhile. I realize that it is pointless to let the rules bother you. Just do what they asked, and shoot. Life is much easier and less stressful that way.

What about the "Scott" type grip with the epoxy and aluminum oxide grit?

I was at a match where a guy came with +3 mag extensions on his brand new STI setup, it was obvious it was his first match. I took him aside and told him that they weren't legal for Limited, and don't put more than 19 rounds in them and I wouldn't tell anyone else. It was obvious in shock and his attitude that he had NO idea he had done something outside of the rules. He was very gracious and didn't try to sneak anything by, just a mistake from a new shooter. If he came back with them, I wouldn't make the exception again. Personally, I think this is a "for fun" sport, and most folks take it that way and play inside the rules, some flexibility that doesn't give a competitive advantage isn't the end of the world. In your example, I would hope the RO would ask the shooter something like, "So, you are shooting in Open today?" and wait for their response. The RO should check to see the competitor's equiptment in in compliance, and since you may not know the Divsion they are shooting in, questions about complaince should be acceptable. repeat offence should be dealt with firmly.

The main difference would be bullet and brass cost. You might like the 5" model a bit better as you can toy with the springs easier since there are guide rods for it that are designed to work with standard 1911 springs. I think Lawman hit it on the head, the law of numbers applies here. The CZ design is pretty good, but at the price point you may get a bad spring or weak part every once in awhile. They are a very good platform IMO.

If you serious hardcore, get an used cement mixer. That is what some serious reloading operations use. I like my Dillon big tumbler.

I would suggest you call KKM and ask them about the barrels. He has some good info on tunsten sleeved barrels. I'm not saying he will sell you one, but it would be worth your time.
