  1. This grip is 2008 legal (this mag button isn't) also if you don't like the stippling.
  2. They are all 140mm legal. They don't work with the NHO magwells "as is", as they are designed to seat on the base of the pistol magazine well. If you get the extended base pads, you should get the packs that come with the extra power springs, especially in the .45. Barsto is going to make some extra capacity one basepads and there is a rumor that they may make a magwell that works with the Arredondo pads.
  3. Got it down to 4#'s today, with a real nice break. The way the trigger pivots I don't see how to get it to be a short travel gun like the XD can be, but I think it is is still is VERY shootable. As much so as a Glock. I have some spare parts and another gun coming from Ruger. Once I get those and some various reduced power striker springs, I can do some more testing. I think it will be another good Production guns from my initial impressions. I don't like the rear sights picture and I'm thinking that I'll check into seeing what it would take to make a target sight insert for the rear sight.
  4. If it only fails with reloads, have you checked that they are fully seating in the barrel. Are you using the "silver" striker spring or the stock striker spring? PM sent.
  5. Update, the SR9 was fun to shoot, it was accurate enough, very little recoil. It is thinner than a 1911 and fit my hands very well. The only complaint I had was the right side of the mag release bit the second finger on my strong hand. Cleaning up the trigger was a MUST, but since it is basically a Glock trigger system I think it won't be long before there are some upgrades. The Glock disconnecter almost works, but is just enough longer I'm not sure if it will work. I may try to modify one, as the Ruger disconnecter is crappy. Overall, I think they did a good job from a design standpoint (basically updating almost all the thing I don't like in about the Glock except the trigger) but fell way short on execution of the final product. The thing was very rough, which was very disappointing. I took lots of photos of the guts, so if anyone want to take a peek, let me know.
  6. Yes, I wouldn't be dry firing it without the mag in as it looks like you could cause some damage to the striker. The magazine safety can be removed in about 10 second though.
  7. It is basically an updated Glock. It looks to me like the folks at Ruger pretty much copied a Glock, they added the XD mag release and loaded chamber indicator and an ambi thumb safety. It fits me much better than a Glock, actually it fit the hand quite nicely. The trigger on this one weighed in at 8#'s and was VERY rough, awefull really. I tore one apart today and the trigger can be fixed up fairly easily. The machining is Ruger rough, and it took a bit of finishing up, but a decent 5.5# break isn't that hard to get. I'm sure it can get even better, but without spare parts I'm not going to experiment on a loaner gun too much. If I can get some parts from Ruger to ruin, I might see if I can get it into the 3.5# range with stock parts. I haven't shot this yet, but I'll post up something once I do.
  8. Looks like they borrowed the Glock trigger design, so that it sucks shouldn't surprise anyone. I'm getting one in to dissect next week, so I'll post my results if I can make it better.
  9. Where did they work that it was ok to search the car? That is illegal in most places without consent, probably criminal even. Concealed is concealed if it is legal, I could care less what they post.
  10. The reduced power strike spring is not going to hit as hard as the OEM one. It works fine with Federal's, not as good with Winchester or CCI.
  11. I agree 100% (COSSA is my home club for those that don't know) and our board that did that were COMPLETE MORONS!!! I let my feeling be known to the board members also. I would not blame anyone for sharing Lawman's feelings. OK, know that you know how I really feel. What the board of COSSA did (which is not part of the action club) was totally unacceptable on many levels. They also tried that crap with other event and lost most all of the big matches for that year in the other disciplines also, since that they have gone back to reasonable rates. Bend has most everything needed for nationals IF they get the help from the Portland and Albany folks, but without their support, it is not an option for a Nationals venue IMO. They now have much better ranges and I don't blame them for wanting to keep the events a bit closer to home. Most people have no idea the effort they put in to make the events here in Bend happen. Chuck, Tom, Everett, Mike (in no particular order) and many many others make the events in Oregon happen at a very high level. It is not so much the range that makes a nationals but the crew that does so IMO. Having a couple years to get ready for the match would really improve the qualities of the matches IMO, but it would also take a lot of work and commitment.
  12. It is 12 degrees here Steve, I'll take your sucky weather over ours We are trying to convert a barn into a shooting shed so we can feel the guns when we shoot.
  13. I just use a set of C shaped clamps to pinch in the sides when switching base pads. It is quite easy. Glocks are magic don't you know, they never fail and never need cleaning.
  14. I think more is better if you have to shoot in inclement weather. I do have practice mags and match mags. I would say 10 is a good number if you are going to go to bigger matches. I know I lost some underwater in Tulsa this year at the Nats and I don't want to reuse those. We regularly have to drop mags in water, mud, and snow. It may be a luxury, but it sure helps have lots of mags loaded up and ready to go so you can focus on other things. And yes Kurt, I have more tied up in mags than any one person needs but it does get real cold here in the winterand it is nice to load up mags before hitting the range and not having to load any mags with frozen fingers.
  15. The longer barreled one is softer.
  16. I vouch for that! I didn't have a solid plan on several stages and looking for targets or changing your plan halfway through the stage is a good way to add lots of time to your score.

  18. With the 5" version, I prefer to lighten my slides. You can run the 16# spring with our reduced power stricker spring reliably. They are very soft in .40 if you run them light.
  19. He knew what he had to do and did it, that is the mark of a true champion. I would shoot Hennings Tanfoglio any time, it is a nice very nice pistol. I believe the more the bcome available the more you will see on them on the range. I would also shoot with Henning again any time any place. They don't come much better than that in the quality department.
  20. ps. A big thanks to the staff and crew!!! Good folks down here. I got to meet Flex briefly and it was a pleasure. I think he gets the award for last guy still strapped Too many good folks too little time to visit. Take care all and hope to see you all next year.
  21. Henning in L (Taran worked hard in Minor and took second, followed by Mike V and Mark Hanish. Mark probably had the over all most consistant performance in Limited especially being that he was sick and all the first 2 days.) Saul in Open and Henning's German friend took second if I understood it correctly, Nils in Production with Matt next, Jerry in Revo...
