  1. 2 Misses (double swinger stage) and 1 Delta for the match, but 8 procedurals (7 on the buzzer stage and 1 on the prone stage for a toe fault )
  2. I liked the shooting, wasn't keen on the "hokey" stuff that went along with it. We had a great squad and it was as good as it gets as far as that went, the folks were great and the weather was fabulous. Oh yea, the buzzer stage (big fat zero because I didn't press it after a malf on the draw), a toe over the fault line on the prone stage, and forgetting to take my safety off on the coin stage kept me out the top 16 in L10. 1 D and 2 mikes (stage 10) for the match and think I shot about 95% of the points, which I should have at the snails pace I was running.
  3. Take it apart and use just slide and frame to see if it still binds. If it does, check the ejector.
  4. Yes, Open, Limited, Single Stack, Production, IDPA ESP, IDPA SSP, and 3-Gun.
  5. Well, since the folks who's game it is says it is OK for THEIR game, I don't understand all the objections. DVC and thanks all. ~ Scott
  6. Please folks, let's not go down this road. You can disagree all you want, my question was on the IDPA rules, not peoples opinions of the rules. Flex, Thanks for cleaning up the "real world" post . I got my IDPA magazine with my membership, and there was a good article about how IPDA is a game, and it is only a game, and it not the "real world." I just wanted to know whether or not I needed to learn to change the technique that I use for shooting or not, becaue I messed up a few times the first couple matches because I was't using my normal glasses and it was frustrating. I am not interested in trying to bend the rules. If puttting something on the lenses is against the rules I won't put anything on them, period. If it ok, I will. I have no doubts that I can hit targets without the tape if it came down to it, but I'm trying to avoid the .5 second penalty for non A hits is what I'm trying to do. I have a visual handicap, and I'm going to use my tape to overcome it.
  7. You would get your ass handed to you on a platter. Yep... Partials and swingers alone will eat your lunch. You drop 40% of the points availble for B/C hits. Can you shoot 40% faster on those shots shooting minor? I tried it at the Crazy Croc (where each stage is 50+ rounds) last year and realized quickly, it wouldn't be a wise choice if I care about my score.
  8. I respectfully disagree. Some folks can't see their sights that way, me being one. I've shot with a small piece of black tape on my glasses for years with no problems, it mearly blocks the "second" front sight out. Now I will being using the approved clear tape, although it isn't as optimimum for the way I see. Seeing 1 front sight is MUCH safer than seeing 2 front sights I've spent hundreds on special glasses and months on end time trying to change the way I see the iron sights, but tape is the thing that works without having to close one eye. If you can raise the gun in front of your eyes and see one sight picture, I count you as one of the fortunate majority, as I am not part of that group.
  9. I was trying to say that 147's and N320 is about as soft as is gets, but I prefer the Zero 124's and N320 loaded to 135 PF.
  10. Why would you want the lightest possible load? 147 Zero's and VV N320 is pretty soft and accurate. In Production I would rather have something that takes down the steel than something that is ubber soft. Besides, if they are too soft, there isn't enough seperation between shots and they just blend together.
  11. You can get some from a local sandblast supply company or PM me and I'll send you enough for a grip.
  12. Try your search function, there are several great "how to" posts on it. Basically aluminum oxided coated grip (coarse from Brownells and quickset epoxy.)
  13. LOL, I have no eye dominance so the tape is on the front of the left lense. I was thinking about getting a letter. Thanks all.
  14. I called IDPA headquarters and asked them if it was legal to use tape on the shooting glasses and she said it is fine because there is no competitive advantage. I asked that she please verify that and let me know what the bosses had to say. I talked to her today and said that it is fine to use semi-transpartent tape on your shooting glasses. Tape that is opaque might be a safety issue in their opinion. My last thread asking about this got closed because people got mean and I didn't even get a chance to post a reply, so I started a new thread for interested folks.
  15. I'll call them tomorrow as my other thread got locked with no answers. I can wear them all day comfortably and I can't find an anything in the rulebook saying it is not ok. 16. Is it legal to shoot with taped glasses? I was told it is illegal, but can't find it in the rules.
  17. I've looked through the IDPA rulebook and I don't see where Tape on the Glasses would be disallowed? Can you clarify? Angel I've only shot two matches and was told that you cant do it. The IDPA Range Master said tape is NOT allowed because you wouldn't wear it "on the street." He is the Oregon Section Coordinator also. If he is wrong, I would LOVE to know. We have a bunch of cross dominant/non dominant folks here.
  18. Travis, I've struggled with this for years. I can force myself to see one sight picture if I try. At speed no way. The problem I think I have is that I have no real dominant eye, and so without tape, I find that the off eye picks up the front sight (because it is bigger maybe from the side angle than the rear view) so I see two front sights. I can shoot with either eye without an issue, but both, not so much. I've tried every exercise I've seen posted. I can shoot well enough to hit A's at 7-10, but the tight shots I have to go to one eye. IPDA doesn't allow tape on the glasses, so my first couple matches have been a challenge visually, because I'm not used to squinting one eye and just see blurr if I don't.
  19. I don't know how they work, but Arcam make some DVD players that read disks that are so damaged the other $1500 players won't even play and they look and sound great. I don't understand how the really good stuff works, but I know it is in another world as far as performance, and when you get used to hearing/seeing the good stuff, it is hard to accept less. That can get very expensive in a hurry.
  20. Above 50" DLP or JVC's HDILA (the 60" 1080 JVC is a really nice set) unless price is no option. If you want to drop 7-10K DWIN makes a beautiful plasma, they are not even in the same league as the stuff you see in the average store. Eric, Out of that list, Sharp Aquos, hands down IMO. They have a nice 46" LCD. I'm not big on SONY, and HDMI isn't "as advertised" most thing look better over good component cables. really good cables will get you a lot. Kimber Cable and Synergistic Research have some cables that are pretty awesome. DWIN uses a DVI from the scaler to the Projector/Plasma and it really is so much better you can't really even describe it. When most folks see it they are blown away about how much better a picture can be.
  21. Norman Invasion Ok, got to admit this made me LOL. I think Norman got under his skin
  22. I'm of the opinion that a KISS should be licensed by Dillon and sold with the press, just like the case feeder. Every 1050 I end up with will have a bullet feeder from here on out.
