  1. And stands? Would love to have a set of five or six stands. Make my whole backyard my dryfire dojo.
  2. Rich, Who gets those great tactical goodies like the V-Tac for our troops? I'm sorry for the drift, but I was wondering if that isn't a good cause to get people together on. Better than issue gear for our guys out in the boonies. Or does anyone know of something like that already? BTW, I have that sling on my SOCOM and I like it quite well. It has a great range of adjustment and seems to be of high quality. JZ
  3. Happy B-Day Scout! Trapr, is that a Rhodesian? If so I must say that one I had years ago, best dog ever! My girfriend named him Arbuckle! (Ex-Girlfriend! Can you guess why?) Anyway, great lookin lad, I hope his days are many and lazy! JZ

    Indie rock

Out here we have a station out of Santa Monica called KCRW. It is the mecca for anything from Indie, Roots Rock, World Music, Latin Music, Electronica, Reggae, Indie Country, Urban and Dance. The news on this station is typical NPR lefty, but the music is usually something interesting. Even though I don't always like it, I can usually appreciate it. Check them out on the internet and you can podcast their stuff. JZ
  5. Pharoah, Thanks for that imaging. My 2nd grader was only able to catch the end as we're here on the West Coast and by the time the clouds cleared, it was beginning to wane. I shall show her tomorrow morning that which we missed. Thanks again, JZ
  6. If the Big Bad Wolf had had that stuff, Little Red would be dead. We need to make sure that none of the S.T.U.P.I.D. camo gets into the hands of any Big Bad Wolf brethren.
  7. Sundays SC match at P.S.G.C. and the squad before us wasn't picking up it's brass. Generally we clean up our brass upon completion of each stage and divide it amongst ourselves. Only three out of our seven was a reloader. Left with five hundred more than I came with, and we still left piles as there was just too much as most of us are heavy with brass 'cause the cops use our range and NEVER pick it up! Needless to say my tumbler has been busy and I'm developing a brass collection.
  8. Congratulations! You will motvate others, now bask properly
  9. I will take this moment to thank those guys that started, and restarted and restarted our club. Here what we have dealt with is rapid expansion of development. What was once our range has been repeatedly annexed by development. For now we have a good stable place, but that could change. I have been in your predicament so to speak and wish you all the very best. Luckily it has always been the practical and tactical guys along with steel challenge and cowboy action who have ruled our roost. Our meetings are held in the open and they tell you what we have in the bank and what it's for ad nauseum. I guess I'll be more appreciative when they go over the figures at the next club meeting,
  10. It happened to a nice guy and if you are not careful with your 550, it could happen to you. ( Or me!) We were shooting I beleive, the OUter Limits. He was on his second string and I hear pop, pop, pop, BLAM! Then a collective "Whoa are you allright?" Well besides a stinging palm he was alright, but that glock is history. I took pics with my phone, but I can't put them on my computer. The rails that the slide ride on were sripped from the frame, and the barrel,(I think it was a Lone Wolf?) was split at thechamber. No squib in the barrel. Figure it must have been a double charge. the guy uses a 550, another person said you gotta be careful,DUH Can this happen on a SDB? I only weigh every 50th charge, is that enough? Crazy things happen in this sport. JZ

    This week

HSMITH, I hope like heck things get better for you. I WILL PRAY THEY DO! I may not be all that religious, but I figure, hey you need it! Good luck and may God have mercy on you. JZ
  12. Ah, back roads. I used to date a tall lanky blonde who used to love driving back roads starkers. All that room in her '66 Mercedes 260. I have never looked at backroads the same way again. We even drove the back way to Vegas that way and went skinnydipping in one of those water tanks they have for the cattle they run out that way. Lucky for us we never got stopped by the CHP. Would have been a little embarrassing. Ah, back roads.
  13. [quote If you shoot guns whether muskets or miniguns you are my friends. Friends may be a strong word, but I hear where you are coming from. I used to get greif from hunting friends about practical shooting being so military like. Heck, some still do. I feel your pain and wish that gun owners wether they be Practical/Tactical/Hunting/Sporting/Black Powder... could all see that we are politically all in the same boat. Just my .02

    ALS

My best friend was diagnosed last year. It is progressing slowly, but I think I took it harder than him initially. I talk to him regularly and it is now starting to sink in I think. When your friend is ready, give him all you can. Little things can go a long way.

    Cancer

I will pray for your friends recovery.
  16. Chuck, Are you a LEO? I was wondering if you pulled that off someone? If so, that would be even more funny Around here, we have to be careful with the fake SSN. One contractor we sell to had three guys apply for a job with the same SSN and address.
  17. Y'know, after looking at all those weapons I somehow think that they are not the ones that you'll find going to the incinerator. Almost all were of significant historical value. Some were prototypes of weapons that were not produced, and some were research weapons. (As evident by cut away barrel shrouds and that one that looked alot like the M-16 they used for operation demonstration at Army basic.) I saw several versions of some things like the MP-5, no not the HK 33 but the MP5 with the longer barrel like they were originally made. Were those MP40s or 38's? I thought the 40's had the funny reciever for the side-by-side magazines. Maybe that was the 38. I always thought that was a cool idea! And the mortars and recoiless rifles! I was a combat engineer for the lightfighters before they got rid of the 90mm recoiless. Talk about a pain in the neck, try carrying that through the jungle in the canal zone. That was a MF'er! That brings back memories of my Great-Grandfather's gun shop when I was little. his name was Carl Woodhouse and he had hundreds of rifles and even BAR's and Thompsons in his shop when I was little. Too bad most of it burned up in a fire after we moved him back to Arkansas. I heard they let the place burn because of all the ammo that had to cook off. Great pics, thanks for the link! JZ
  18. So where does this pistol fit in as far as classification? It has a single stack magazine but holds 9 per mag. Download to 8 and shoot SS? It has a DA/SA trigger, production? Find some mags that hold 10 and shoot L-10? Am interested to here your thoughts, and does anyone even make 10 round magazines for this thing? Thanks,JZ
  19. I use the black dot at the center of the target to sight. That remains the point of aim for the entire time that I am sighting in. You are using the sight adjustment to move the point of impact.
  20. I still can't believe it! I will probably be saying that for quite some time. Now I only need a shotgun and I'll be ready for 3-gun! Have any of you shot the S&W 1006? He brought dies and mags for both and the SOCOM has an optical sight that seems more than adequate. Bummer thing is that he brought these things because he doesn't feel he'll be shooting much any more. This saddens me somewhat, but I am happy that he brought them to me! I love my dad! JZ
  21. As a half-breed from very Southern CA ( Mom is from Mexico, Dad is from San Diego, Grew up in the Indio/Palm Springs very latino area) I say BTW, the polite response would have been "Mande?" JZ
  22. Well, I've been using the CR Speed for a while and really like it. Now I need to find a holster that I like. While I like the one I have, it is not the best as far as quality and I think that it will not outlast next season. So I've got a bit of time. Suggestions? ( Can you say thread drift?) BTW, I shoot a Browning HiPower in 9mm, JZ
  23. Kroil is Kroil in the non-aerasol can. Aerokroil is in the aerosol can, hence the name Aerokriol. We use both at ouir factory, great stuff.
