  1. Geez Jim, two round mags? I think you might look to add a 1 in front of that. A nice 12 rounder would be very helpful. (Typo?)
  2. Not sure how many folks saw the recent episode of Shooting Gallery where they visited the Taurus factory in Brazil. I was surprised at the amount of different products Taurus makes. Many of which never find their way to the US. I've been pleasantly surprised with some of Taurus' designs in recent years. They are no longer a crap gun maker. They've got some decent quality stuff. I'll be very interested to see I Jessie can show them how to build a real competition gun. If they want to build I they certainly have the capability.
  3. Excellent, I appreciate the offer. I've been looking to trade out my Rohm RG-10 for an M&P. I feel bad though. Can I include $10.00 for shipping?
  4. Any chance you an upper with M4 feed ramps and a non M4 cut barrel? Might look like it's hanging up.

  6. Alright, I finally got the OK from the boss to let everyone know about this match. The Crimson Trace Midnight 3 Gun Invitational will be held July 15-17, 2012 in Bend Oregon. The Midnight part of the name is accurate. We'll be shooting from about 9PM till 2AM each night in the desert outside of Bend. This is the first and only event of it's type. Staff will shoot on Sunday night after the Northwest Multigun. Competitors will shoot on Monday and Tuesday. Since this is a first of it's kind we're pretty heavily limiting the number of competitors that can shoot the match. We want to make sure we have time to get through all the stages before the sun comes up in the morning. This is an invitational only match. The invitations are in the and should be showing up any day now. We did our best to make sure the top 3 Gun competitors in the country received an invitation to this unique match. If you receive an invitation, please register as soon as possible, or let us know if you're making the mistake of not coming so we can invite someone else. Here's the plan. Sunday night the staff will run all 8 stages of multi, multi gun fun. Competitors will will be invited to the hosted dinner at the range on Monday night at 6PM, with vendor displays, giveaways, and possibly some very interesting side events. Shooting will start around 9-9:30 PM depending on when it's dark. Competitors will shoot 4-5 stages the first night. Tuesday we're back on the range at 6PM for another hosted dinner and events. Finish the shooting that night. The awards ceremony and generous prize table will take place on Wednesday at noon. The rules are posted on the website. We are running this match as an Open division only event. You can shoot whatever you want. The stages are set up so there aren't any more than 9 shotgun rounds required, although you can certainly shoot more if you'd like. I left it this way so there wouldn't be that much of a penalty for those shooting Tac Ops gear. But when I say Open, I mean Open. I don't care if you bring 8 pistols, 3 rifles, 4 uppers, 6 shotguns and swap between them each stage. Feel free to change sighting equipment, lasers, lights, holsters, whatever you think gives you an advantage for the stage being shot. We will also have Crimson Trace gear available for the competitors to use during the match, and an area to sight in and practice with it if you'd like. I'm still confirming the details on some of the stage guns, but I guarantee you will be able to shoot some awesome gear that most of us only get to drool over in movies. The website is up and live at www.crimsontrace.com/m3gi. There is a link there to register. If you didn't receive an invitation, please don't try to sign up using that link. If you're not on the list, we can't let you in.
  7. Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: If it's legal in Lim, it's legal in L-10. Really long answer: what he said and only if you load ten in the mag. Longer answer: You can load more than 10 in the mag as long as there are only 10 in the magazine at the start signal. For example, having 11 in your load and make ready mag on a loaded chamber start.
  8. JP Rifles makes a bigger version of the Cooley brake that is right at the limit size wise. Other wise, I'm fairly certain SureFire makes the MB762 in a FAL thread pitch. Just might take a bit to receive one.
  9. Email Ken. The waiting list is just about cleared up. He opened up a bunch of slots to shoot with staff. You're probably not gonna be shooting Sat/Sun but you might still get in. Ken's email is Ken@Kennelson.com
  10. It's a little tricky to set up a match. Glock sends a couple employees to help out and they only have a few that work in the GSSF program. There is a link on the website for an application to host a match. Fill it out and send it in. As clubs step away from GSSF there are always several more looking to step in. It may take a few years but if it's a good fit they'll work you in. The more information you can put on the application the better.
  11. I have a Blade Tech WRS for my Glock 34 but the hood won't clear the Warren/Sevigny sights. Hangs up about 50% of the time. The Dawsons I doubt would do any better.
  12. Dang it. All this time I though TOP shooter meant totally obnoxious prick. I've been doing my best, no wonder manufacturers aren't showering me with cash.
  13. September 14-16, 2012, Frostproof, FL, Universal Shooting Academy. Not gospel or official but if Frank says it is, I'd be willing to bet he's right.
  14. It's your best three of the four specified. If you're just going for a slot, not a specific team placement, division doesn't matter. You'll have to shoot an IPSC Nats at some point to get the third match, either this year or next. But the USPSA Nationals there are lots of different options. SS/LPR/OL10(Or whatever mix). You can't use all three USPSA matches, and you have to shoot at least one match in 2012 and 2013. The policy is listed under the BOD Online Meeting minutes from December 30, 2011.
  15. Your points for three Nationals go towards earning a slot for the 2014 WS. I'm sorry Shootingchef thinks it's crap but with expecting requests for slots to top 1000 and the possibility of only receiving 76 main match slots from IPSC we really couldn't come up with a more fair way to do it. Yes I would love to see the announcement for the match but it's not out. The dates, are at least. As far as the importance. Keep in mind if you're not going for a team slot it doesn't matter what division you accumulate points in. If you shoot the Single Stack Nationals, and Production Nationals this year, the IPSC Nationals in Open next year, that is the three matches for points. Just as an example.
  16. The Elcan has issues with POI shift when switching back and forth between 1-4. The Swaro, sorry fanboys, is a waste for three gun. Who needs to spend 2k for a scope with more magnification than we need for three gun. I've played around with a couple of the Swaros and just wasn't that impressed.
  17. That does not sound good for the show continuing past this season. They should be well into filming now if they were planning on doing another season.
  18. Very common to see. Almost every CZ shooter does it. Just take your time and pay attention and you'll be fine.
  19. Very cool! ETA - how early does that [camera] shooting start? I wasn't saying that I will be on the show as a sure thing. I don't think casting for Season 5 has even started. I meant that I will try out. I was being cocky saying that "I will be on Season 5". Taping is 6 months give or take a month in advance. Memory serves, Season 5 has already been cast, and at least a portion probably already taped. They normally run about a season ahead. Remember, they will show us the next seasons competitors in about 11 weeks. I can just about guarantee, the Mayor will not be appearing in Season 5. Now season 6, that's another matter. You could easily be on there and should definitely try out. I've seen you shoot and you definitely don't have any problems with the attribute that keeps me off the show. The desire to not look dumb on National TV.
  20. HAHA!! If you pissed me off, you'd know it because I'd come up with something a lot better than not letting you into the match!! I've been out of town since the middle of Novemeber. I know that isn't a good excuse, but I did my very best to make sure all of the updates were on the website, including the preregistration for shooters that had shot the match the previous two years or 5 years total. Not sure what else I should have done. The entire reason for doing the registration on line was to remove any hint of favoratism. Just so everyone out there knows it, I HATE THIS MATCH! IT IS A COMPLETE MONEY LOOSER FOR MGM DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE IS SO MUCH SHOOTING, WE ARE LIMITED TO HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS WE CAN TAKE. IT IS A COMPLETE DRAIN OF MGM'S EMPLOYEES TIME. I ALWAYS SHOOT LIKE $H!T AT THE MATCH BECAUSE I'M SO FREAKIN' TIRED FROM BEING OUT THERE FOR THE PREVIOUS WEEK AND HALF SETTING UP. I'VE SPENT MY BIRTHDAY AT THE RANGE FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS. Just so you know, my fun meter is about pegged. I'd actually considered this being the last year. Maybe it will be. Oh sack up Nancy! Geez it's not like this is the first thing MGM does to support the shooting sports that is a complete time and money drain (Junior camp anyone?). And really, shoot like $H!T? You won Irons last year and got to shoot in the shootoffs at the end even though you were beat by a more rested and clearly more physically fit shooter. BTW remind me, I need to call you and ask for some more help on the Crimson Trace Match in July. Fun meter pegged...we're gonna break that puppy. All kidding aside, thanks for putting this thing on Trav. After putting on a bunch of matches, that are in general about the equivalent of one MGM Ironman stage, I can only imagine what a pain this thing is. It's killing me I can't go this year. Don't even try to skip it for 2013 though. I will hound you till your ears fall off if you try.
  21. They might be unsurpassed -- no one's doing it better -- but are they without equal? I suspect not -- and I suspect that there are custom smiths turning out blasters that shoot as well for a lot less cash.... That said, they build some lovely, and reportedly excellent, guns -- so if anyone wants what they offer, I wouldn't argue with that.... Well that depends on what it is. Building a cosmetically pretty gun with some really radical designs, nope, can't think of a single shop that does it better. Build a match winning gun? Oh yeah, I can think of a lot better choices. But that's part of the reason why SV's market share is miniscule compared to STI. The way I always explain it to people looking for factory guns is if you want a gun that looks don't matter and won't necessarily run from the factory, buy an STI. If you want a gun that is cosmetically awesome, but probably won't run from the factory, buy an SVI. The difference is you can take the 3-4 K you save buying the STI and make it run 100%
  22. No way I would buy an SVI Limited gun after shooting a Glock. If anything I would try out a couple different used STI/SVI's. After that I would look for a good smith to build me one. SVI is way, way overpriced at this point. Good for them they are selling well enough to justify the price point, but I'd rather go with a Matt McLearn, or other smith's gun, built exactly the way I want it. As far as needing a new gun. I made Master with my G35, then decided to get a custom 2011 to push me that next step to GM. Shot it for a couple more years, but never really got any better. I've dabbled back and forth between Glock and 2011 pattern guns depending on the match. For shooting Major, I shoot 2011 better than Glock. For Minor I shoot Glock better.
  23. 12" forend will not cover a rifle length gas block.
  24. If during scoring you walk up to the clay and there is a piece missing, you're good. Doesn't have to be visible from 5 yards or 20. And no the peanut gallery can't spot for you.
