Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. No, it is not. The mag release is similar to the AR, but not the same. The Akdal lower is wider than an AR-15, so that's one issue. The other is that the Akdal mag release is an Allen screw from the button side of the receiver to the mag catch side of the receiver. I discovered this by accident, not observation, as the mag release started working its way loose and I thought it was set up the same way. It is not. I wonder if there is some way to get a raddlock to work on there.
  2. Anyone for california? I've got a bullet button on it (from atlantic arms) but I plan to put a radlock on it for use in Nevada. Just wanting to know about compatibility. My understanding is that the mag release is exactly like an AR so... I would assume yes.
  3. did i mention this was one of those new XN serial'ed versions, I think 3rd gen is what they're saying... Anyhow, I'm going to try my regular target loads without the bushing first.
  4. Oh, also, should I pick up some of those tromix bushings? or should I just go to the hardware store and find something similar? I will be shooting mainly bird shot
  5. I'm curious what the length on most setups become with a folding tromix stock? I'm in california where among 922® laws, we've got the OAL requirement. I think 26" 30" 36" (someone chime in here)? Anyhow, will the MKA 1919 meet the OAL requirement in folded position? Also, how much extra weight does a stock add with the adapter? Give cheek weld and other factors like Length of Pull, what is the advantage to doing the after market stock adapter for either a AR buffer tube, or a folding stock?
  6. I love my 3 gun setup because its light as a feather (the entire gun) and it shoots without much recoil. It also shoots faster than I could possibly fire accurate shots (cycles fast) I am trying to understand how its possible to have the best of both worlds? (I built it according to the advice of many on the setup) My 3 gun setup Loki 18" light weight double fluted barrel with a rifle length adjustable gas system AP Customer CF handguard Loki Low Mass carrier group JP light weight rifle buffer JP Rifle buffer spring (the more springy one I think?!) Magpul moe rifle stock SD3-G Noveske Gen 2 lower Jp Brake I am going to take a stab at the science behind this... It has no recoil and cycles fast because there is less weight or mass moving. I have a dissipator setup I am looking to potentially use for 3 gun or another setup which uses a 16" barrel with a rifle length gas system. I am thinking of using the similar light weight mass carrier along with a lighter buffer, perhaps a carbine weight or lighter. Does this setup seem like it would work similar to my current rifle above? Next setup. I've been using a ar pistol with a carbine buffer and spring with a regular buffer and adjustable gas system. It has a 10" barrel with a carbine gas system, so its relatively light shooting in comparison with its 7.5" with a pistol length gas system. I don't shoot the thing nearly as fast as with a rifle setup. Would it be a stupid idea to use a 9mm or h2/h3 buffer to help felt recoil with the pistol? Would it not be smarter if all systems used a lighter mass carrier? Or are we talking reliability issues? I've had no issues with said 3 gun/ ar pistol / or dissy setups in their current setup.
  7. There are two sight types on dawson's website, the .160 ht and the .180 ht? Which can be used with the standard m&p rear sight? Reason I ask is because it says .160 in the vid, and when I called dawson they were unsure and said something about someone's pistol not being zero'ed and that the .180 was the correct one?
  8. I'll let you know about the front barrel nut retainer when i get the thing out of jail (10 day wait)
  9. Just put my m&p .22 in jail for 10 days (california) Curious what types of accessories you all are using with the mp22 pistol. -Mags (where to get them mainly) -Dawson front sight (http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=154832) - comments? -Mag pouches? or solutions? -Fitment with a Blade tech DOH holster (9mm/.40) Thanks in advance guys.
  10. This. It won't cycle properly without one of the two extended caps. Either will work.
  11. Okay, ran it this weekend, couldn't get the bolt to lock back with the low mass carrier, low mass buffer, and increased spring rate in the rifle tube.
  12. smooth as heck. its actually more slick, its got that special coating on it.
