  1. So true! I felt bad every time I walked away and have converted to 9.
  2. With the new batch and a Brazos Pro SX, I loaded 10.7gr to make 172 PF.
  3. I have 2 SJC built 170mm mags that is sitting and collecting dust since I sold my SJC open gun last year. Used for maybe 6 matches and holds 28. PM me with a reasonable offer if interested.
  4. Salomon SC3's, the most comfortable and flexible.
  5. Stay at the Holiday Inn - it's a 5 min drive o the range. You get breakfast, the rooms are clean and you are within a 10 min drive to all the restaurants.
  6. I can get 23 reloadable on an STI mag with Bolen/Taran Butler follower, spring and basepad (7mm) and 24 reloadable with a SV tube with both 9mm or 38sc.
  7. I tried an 8 fixed, 9 fixed and also variable, and 10 fixed and settled on the 8lb fixed ISMI. On a spring tester, the 8lb ISMI came out at 8.5lb.
  8. I would preorder them from SV. The current "new" versions fit the STI with minimal tuning. 4 out of 6 drop free for me out of the box.
  9. One of my buddies reseated 7000+ rounds with a hand primer after finding out that they were all high...
  10. Over the last year, I have seen at least 3 cracked slides and frames. Some more rounds than others but approximately in the 10-20k range. The only common factor is 9mm major and autocomp. Not sure if there is a resonance issue or an issue with slides.
  11. I use FP-10 for a lubricant and will mix it with Mobil 1 if I want it a little thicker.
  12. I prefer to use 140's and they hold 24+1. Unless I need 29+1 or 30+1 for the stage, 140's are faster to reload for me. I guess it depends what you prefer.
  13. I have used WSF for 9mm minor, 9mm subsonic and also 9mm major with Glocks and it works well. 9mm major was loaded with 6.7-6.8gr with a 125gr zero jhp. It's also much cheaper than n320.
  14. I would also stock the same batch of powder for the year or two. Many powders do vary from batch to batch.
  15. Good service, great integrity, not the lowest price but always fair.
  16. The shooter connection bag is way too big to carry around. I had one for 2 years and finally gave mine away. The CED is a better size but I have now gone to a good tactical backpack for my shooting and range needs
  17. Definitely go with the DAA Racemaster. Doing a mag change is smooth and a 170mm will not drop out when you are running
  18. I like the Safariland which has a felt like material in the lining.
  19. Very sad indeed. Condolences and prayers to his family
  20. I have tried the double tap route mentioned above and it works to some degree. Once you have done this test, I would pay attenntion to the dot. Does it goes up and down and does it move around? I think that a predictable dot is more important esp if it goes straight up and down and stay within the lens. When I did this, I selected a lower pundage recoil spring and then found that the dot was not predictable. I went up a pound in spring weight and have kept that.
