Depends on the range grounds such as gravel, sand etc. I have found that you need bigger wheels and you need to get the range bag raised from the ground. As you push it around, dust gets everywhere and skinny wheels gets stuck in sand.
I had both JP CTR-02, one with and another without. I liked the balance and weight of the one without the heat shield much better. Shooting several 3 gun matches and did not notice any issues with heat on the handguard.
I have a Single Stage for Rifle, A Super 1050 for Pistol/Rifle (9,40,45,38sc,556) and a Ponsness Warren Patriot for Shotshell 12 G. I sold a Dillon 650 to make room for the PW.
That is how it all starts - then before you know it, you have a ton of stuff, $$ and time invested in your new found hobby. No different than USPSA though and just as fun!
