  1. I have one and have loaded on it and have not had any issues with it. Accuracy is as good as on my single stage press but faster...;-) The only thing to watch out for is using the right powder so that you can meter well in a progressive press. I have seen some will weigh and drop each charge individually but that's a lot more work that I am willing to put up for...
  2. Using SVI 140mm tubes, bolen follower, boler 11 coil spring, bolen 4mm basepad and following Dawson's tuning video, I got 21 into my magazines. They are reloadable.
  3. I have loaded 9mm minor, 40 SW major, 45 major and 38 Super comp major with Fed small pistol magnum primers and they work fine. They are a littel flattened on the 38 super comp laoded to 168 PF. I will be switching the 38 SC to small rifle primers. Everthing else will be on small pistol primers till I run out.
  4. Enough to finish the stage + 1 just in case, I drop a reload.
  5. I keep a log of every firearm that I have, easy to do with a spreadsheet printed out. You can hand write the info and put it in a binder. I also keep track of maintenance. Top end clean vs complete disassembly and clean. I also track what modifications or changes I do with the gun and what the effect of it is. It makes it a lot easier to keep track of when you have many guns. If I chrono my loads, I also track this. I should also track the groups/accuracy of my loads but I am too lazy to do that...;-) ** EDIT ** I do not do this for my 22's
  6. I find the above works even at 15 yards. Then again 50yards for me would be a looong way off
  7. So how does it shoot? How about a range report.
  8. I run a G 17 from SJC and it is an awesome gun to shoot. I shoot a G34 in production but that would be too long.
  9. Open is a blast. You should add it to the list of divisions to master. The order is not that important if you are having fun.
  10. In tactical division, it seems that having an eotech + 3x magnifier will be ideal for both short and long distances. Swinging the magnifier into view will be as fast as removing the OCD on a TA11. Anyone use this?
  11. Gentlemen - Thank You. This is what I thought but just want to be sure since the 55 gr cannelure projectiles require a crimp.
  12. Does anyone know how much crimp ther should be for these projectiles? They have no cannelure and the Blackhills loaded ammo looks like they were just seated. Thanks
  13. LMT does not sell complete rifles to civilians. The Lower unit - Defender models are semi auto while the Guardian models are full auto. You can get 2 triggers with the defender model - a single stage and a two stage match. I have both and like the 2 stage better. The uppers can be had in a traditional M4 or in a MRP (monolithic rail platform) where the rails are part of the upper receiver and you can change out barrels with a single bolt in about 2 minutes. I love mine. Accuracy with 69 grain Blackhills are under 1in at a 100yds. You can probably get 1/2 MOA. With Fed AE55, it less accurate given the 1:7 twist in the rifling.
  14. Try tightening the shellplate holder. On my 650, I tighten it hand tight and then back off 1/8-1/16 of a turn. This keeps the shellplate close to the primers as they come around and not let it flip. When I did this, the sideways primer problem went away.
  15. I have both a 40SW Spitfire and 38SC Shorty and they work great! Both Dan and Chuck are a pleasure to work with. I thnk I need a couple more for my collection...;-)
  16. Logged in to check my status and saw that there are aliases that you can set up for yourself. Does anyone use them?
  17. Does the bulge weaken the brass? or is it shot through an aftermarket "fully supported" barrel?
  18. I have one in .38 Supercomp. It's a KKM barrel. Dan will still use a Schuemann (spelling?) if you ask for it, but I'm pretty sure the standard he goes with now is KKM....mine is super accurate. From the end of the barrel hood to the muzzle is 4.5"....I can measure from other spots if you'd like. R, Bart +1
  19. Gonna guess 7-8k of 40 in a five gallon bucket......+-k for 9mm/45acp........Just an estimate... Can see someone now counting 5 gallons of 40 brass so you can have an exact answer...........Merlin??? That is a lot of brass - it'll never run out!
  20. Where did you get it?
  21. If cool makes you shoot better, so the better...;-)
  22. OK, for my 1st official USPSA match and in the 1st stage. I was shooting production with 10 rounds in the mags and only had 3 mag pouches. I stuck the 4th mag into my pocket but in the excitement, when told to load and make ready - I loaded from the map pouch. The stage needed 4 mags to complete. When I got to the last set of targets, I dropped the mag and reached back to get another, Ooops no mags left. Aaaargh! Forgot that the other mag was in my pant pocket. Ended up dead last but learned a valuable lesson...;-)
