Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Found that I didn't push the handle all the way up on one of the cases when seating the primer. So I have a high primer. Is there a safe way of pushing it all the way in? Or do I just need to use the bullet puller and trash the primer? Thanks DTT
  2. Awesome....this is a good thing to know!
  3. Ok tried a search before I posted...for the record. I was finding that I was getting a mess everywhere of gun powder AFTER I fixed the sticking shell plate issue. After a little searching i found that the brass end of the powder sensor that goes into the casing is having gun powder stick to it every time it checks a load. ummm I am at a loss as to how to fix this.... If it was literally a few grains I would not care, but this thing is making a huge mess now! Anyone?
  4. Sorry I rechecked..they are plated. They are rainier 115 JHP. BTW what is a 'push test'?
  5. Thanks for this. I have tried with no bell at all and I tend to scrape the copper off more often then not when seating. So I have kept a minimal bell to try and avoid that. Maybe I'll get better with time ? Lol
  6. The weapon is a p239 . I have tested the final product in my barrel and it fits fine and slides out. It also fits into my mag fine. I don't know what a push test is.
  7. Ok sounds good. I have a redding competition seating die, but haven't installed it yet as I was just doing range ammo. Thanks for the answers!
  8. Ok just got everything all setup on the 650 press but have an OAL question. The reloading book, Lyman, I am using says the OAL should be 1.090 on my 9mm with 115 gram JHP. No matter what I do, I can get it close to that OAL but not exactly at it. sometimes a bit shorter, sometimes a bit longer. I went and measured the critical defenses JHP's that I carry everyday and they are close to 1.12 OAL. The rounds I started making ALL fit into the 9mm case gauges without issues at all. Not tight and slid right out if I turn it upside down. Should I worry about this or keep trying to get it down to the exact number? TIA Dtt255
  9. Ok got everything all setup on the 650...but running into a small issue. When moving from station 2-3. From the powder station to the powder check station when the shell plate 'snaps' into the 3rd station (check station) it snaps so hard powder jumps out of the shell that was just filled. Ummm....I don't want to mess with it needlessly....how do I fix this issue to maybe make it a bit 'smoother' so it doesn't 'jerk' powder out of the shell? Thanks DTT
  10. I am sorry but this is the WORDT ADVICE I have ever read. It is a felony in every state in USA to carry a gun into a post office EVEN if you are a CCW holder. Only Feds and officers can. It is federal property. Just like you cannot carry in a court house or any federal building, even if you are a CCW holder.
  11. Ah I was on page 23 as trying to find the answer under the 'powder check system' area. So I just didn't get to that adjustment area yet. Thanks for replies !
  12. There were no instructions that came with my powder check system. I noticed that there was 3 rods that came with it. Which rod is for which caliber. Can anyone point me in the right direction on setting this up correctly? Thanks Dtt
  13. About 5 weeks since my order. Awesome! Now I also just watched the Dillon DVD for setup....I have to say, the most BORING AND INFORMATIVE video I have EVER seen. Gave me ALL the information needed, in detail but I felt like I would have like to pull my hair out at the same time. For me...it is going to be essential in setting it up correctly. lol WHOOO!!!!
  14. Well got everything in my order today but the press.....so i'm getting there!
