  1. What I was thinking. The first barrel you jerked the gun out of too fast, would leave all your ammo someplace else.
  2. Cool, I was wondering on the way home if I would ever see this picture. It was a lot of fun shooting trying to shoot with all of you.
  3. I setup my 650 for depriming, then trimming. The 1050 I backed out the sizer die so the case mouth is "kissed" by it, and the expander ball goes in and out while also knocking corn media from the flash hole. I reckon you could get another 223 die and duplicate my process with the 1050. I prefer the case mouth be shaped up before trimming, just a personal preferance I guess.
  4. Guess I'm the odd man out. I leave handle up, bullets on charged cases, ready to press. Unless I'm finished with the lot I'm working on. XL650. I walk up to the press, do a quick visual, start pressing.
  5. http://www.zebralight.com/SC600w-XM-L-18650-Flashlight-Neutral-White_p_74.html I've got one of these, 600 lumens in your pocket. I like to clip mine on my hat brim. You would need an 18650 rechargeable cell.
  6. I did a very thourough experiment with clocking the comp, at least with the sjc titan. Dead level was best for me in a typical standing shooting stance. Any other amount of rotation caused the dot to wiggle laterally. When strait up and down dot goes up and down vertically. It may be different for some other design. Another thing that I noticed during the test was every time I rotated the comp, the point of impact changed dramatically. Group size was unaffected, but it always hit different. When I cleaned the comp, impact shifted 2 feet, at 100 yards! Still good groups though. FWIW.
  7. Been a while, but I'm on it, with the wifey. Finished off with some centerfire rifle practice Well, I guess finished off with some Enos forum. ah ha ha. night, I mean, G'day folks.
  8. 50/50 mobile 1/ATF for all my guns, and presses, and stuffs.
  9. I had been going thru about 2,000 rounds, and it took about 3 evenings worth of "listening" to the kids cartoons. Got done late the last night and left it on the coffee table along with the 4 duds I left loose to scrap. Well, came home the next day, and the table is clear. I asked my wife, "where were the 4 rounds laying loose on the table?" she replied, "Oh, I put them in the bag with all the rest" I didn't even say anything. Shoulda cleaned it up when I was done.....
  10. I've had bad results bringing a mixed bag of ammo, so I only roll with one load now. At least all the same weight/charge, keeps the gas system running right. I do use SMKs for long range.
  11. Hey, I'm up from the north end of the boot. Welcome!
  12. See! Told you to quit beating yourself up! Ha ha, I could tell midwest left an aweful taste in your mouth though.
  13. Take your time, don't load more than 10 or so at a time, until you have fine tuned your load. Otherwise, - may not work in gun - may not make powerfactor - may be too hot - crimp may be off - bullets may tumble, or be horribly inaccurate. These are just some of the things that can go wrong (and have for me) it's easy to get carried away at the press. And if you've loaded 200 rounds, then you've got 200 "duds" so to speak. Also, don't buy "bulk" of anything yet until you get a load developed. For all of the reasons above and more. Personally for .45acp I use 230gr ball, and Clays....works great (for me). Good luck, read a lot.
  14. I bought one from Brian, it's a good trimmer, and even better time saver. Processed about 2,500 brass this weekend.
  15. It sucks BAD! Only thing that worked for me was taking 6 months "serious" off time. As in, no dryfire, no livefire. Sad days, but my arm feels great now.
  16. I'm running the carbon arms version on all my rifles. I like carbon fiber.
  17. I got a 2nd place at texas with a 2-2, and 1st at Midwest with the same. I like my Eotech, but I've only ever used Iron sights otherwise, You can go thru the pros and cons of it all, but it really just boils down to what you practice with, and how much. I guess I'd try a pris, but don't have one, and don't really want to make a change at this point. If someone donated one to me I reckon I'd try it.
  18. It would definitely save you some time, it just depends on how much your time is worth. 10-15K per year, and don't want to sort, I wouldn't even have to ask. If you absolutely hate the 1050, then just sell it.
  19. It is what I run. Zero the center dot for 250yds, and the second dot is good for 25yds, and 500 yds.
  20. Nope. Standard 2 3/4 inch shells. In fact the exact same 7 shells I load into the +3 tube. The only thing I can think to do is cut the spring down until they all load. Then test for function. If that works I'm done. If that doesn't work I can buy a new spring (and be ticked at Nordic). I wouldn't be ticked at Nordic. Benelli advertises that their M2 Field shotguns hold 3+1. If you got a Nordic +4, that would make sense. I don't know how the +3 held the same but either way, I wouldn't be upset with them. That is one great thing about this forum, if you would ask here before you buy something that you are not sure about, there is a wealth of knowledge and great advice that is sure to help. I checked and yes, I have a +5 on my M1 that holds 8 and a +6 on my M2 that holds 9, both with the spring cut right at 12" past the tube. You are right. I should not jump to the conclusion that I should be ticked at them. I buy them because they are high quality products. I guess when I pointed the finger at them there were 4 more fingers pointing back at me! Thanks for the help. Give them a call, bet they would work something out with you, maybe try the next largest size as an exchange. It would be worth a try. Good luck man. edit: I would be careful cutting the spring down, I would bet you'd get a malfunction before you'd get an extra shell in there. They tend to wear out anyways even when cut properly to begin with.
  21. I shot a p229 for years in idpa, and production. I like sig pistols. Good shooting.
