  1. Funny thing about those 9mm/38sup mags though. The ones I have (all pre-ban both the chromed ones and the blacked ones) look like garbage but worked without having to be tuned for both 38 super and 9mm.... (of course having to re-tension the lips on the bottom of the mag so the base pad stays on without tape is a pain). I haven't seen any of the new 9mm/38sup mags do they look any better? 2. Unless something has changed you are outa luck on sp2. The company that used to import sp2 doesn't do it anymore. If that has changed I'd be really happy. As it is the best powder for 9mm major I have used. Peter Adams Fy-39604
  3. To me nothing feels better in the hand. Most of the extra weight is back between the hands so the gun still points and balances well. Travis T. seems to do well with one. I also seem to recall seeing Jake D. shooting one at the nationals a couple of years ago. Didn't seem to be holding him back either. Peter Adams FY-39604
  4. Paint it white or gray or another light color.
  5. You can almost certainly get a used caspian framed open gun and 3-4 mags for that kind of money.
  6. So how is my Smith & Wesson 745 (10th I.P.S.C. Anniversary model) with single action trigger not a single stack?
  7. I have found the the meopta works better at range than most people think. You just have to keep in mind the size of the dot at 4x and also explore the distance between the dot and the top of the bottom cross hair. That plus an understanding of the balistics of your load ought to get you out to 400 yards or so on flash targets with 10" plates. Maybe farther (400 or so is as far as I have to play with). 8. benelli2 (AKA Jeff Cramblit) could probably help him with that. Peter Adams FY-39604
  9. You won't be sorry. The Larue is an excellent solution to the problem.
  10. Mike, My name is Peter Adams. I am the current Alabama section coordinator. The section website is http://www.ipscalabama.com/. PM me if you have any questions. Peter
  11. Some of that depends on the scope... Some of that depends on the shape of your face. In my experience on an AR I can get rings that will allow the scope to clear the gun but put the scope too low to allow me to get a good cheek weld. Peter Adams FY-39604
  12. Best option is probably larue spr mount. Other than that almost any extra- high 30mm ring will work. With out the larue it can be tricky to get it mounted far enough forward... Particularly if you are a nose to the charging handle kind of person. Peter Adams Fy-39604
  13. Roger announced it at my match last saturday... http://mossbranch.org/ seems to confirm it. Peter Adams FY-39604
  14. I kinda like number 2... Cause every rifle looks meaner with a can.
  15. Not sure I'd want a 416. But the HK AR mags that were developed for them are all good. Peter FY-39604
  16. In the right hands with the right load a gun like that would still work pretty well. I like the standard length slide that is cut back to commander length. I also like the aluminum honeycomb and carbon fiber scope mount. Load it with 135gr bullets and a 170mm mag that holds 26ish rounds. Good to go even with the tube sight. Peter Adams FY-39604
  17. I never would have believed it, but apparently Lithuanian .308 does actually exist. A brief Google search shows it available at AIM surplus.
  18. I have had good luck with the 75gr BTHP. Peter
  19. Some times you just have to beat a dead horse...

  21. Not sure about a test rig but you might want to look at borrowing a Casio EX-F1 camera. It has a claimed 1200 fps video mode that along with some test scale cards might be useful. The link is to a product demo video. Looks interesting. Peter
  22. Glad you are OK... I did that on a 650 once and ended up cooking off the whole stack... My ears rang for days. Peter
  23. From an optical and durability standpoint I much prefer that scope to a C-More. Just wish it didn't weigh so much. I had that scope's predecessor (one of the ones with the built in mount) on 9x25 STI and always liked it. Of course I guess if I was really worried about weight I wouldn't shoot a steel framed open gun now Peter
