Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. Where is the best place to buy functional, at a reasonable price, metric steel or aluminum FAL magazines? Thanks! Guy
  2. Who are some or all of the current manufacturers of these 'cat tails'? Links to the sites where they are marketed? Thanks in advance!
  3. I want the most velocity with reliability. Guy Hawkins Lubbock, Texas
  4. I would like to get the most accuracy with the maximum velocity that will fit in the mag and function perfectly. I do also care about how clean it burns and leaves the rifle, FIRE AWAY! Thanks folks! Guy P.S. I do not want to blow up my rifle but do not care about slightly more than average wear. I also would like actual experience on the accuracy through different length barrels and twist rates. Any info on the cannelure vs. non-cannelure bullet in a semi rifle would also be appreciated (I think I know the non-cannelure will be pushed back or move more easily in the case than a cannelured bullet. Feel free to address anything else I have forgotten.
  5. Trapr and everyone, Thanks I just ordered 3 of the Larue mounts! Guy Hawkins
  6. On a regular AR15 flattop, without a riser, what height (and brand) rings do you use? I am mounting a 1-4x meopta. Guy Hawkins Thanks!

What is the red in front of the muzzle on the pistol?
  8. No kidding!! I was at a match where I saw and RO click the timer belt friction loop (the thingy that holds it to your belt) after the shooter stopped and make the guy have way more time than what he ran, I thought there was going to be a fist fight. It was kinda like a 'you ain't winning unless your cheating' thing. I always try to show the shooter, right after they stop, the time (unless they are doing something unsafe or something more important which needs my attention). Guy Hawkins
  9. According to the 2008 Shotgun Rules App. D2 there is no limit on magazine length, just the number of rounds loaded. Doug I thought so, thank you Doug for confirming that!!
  10. It the competitor limited in the capacity that the shotgun will hold or just the number of shells the competitor can start with in the shotgun in each division? Thanks! Guy Hawkins
  11. Anyone shot this stuff? What were your impressions? Where is the best place to buy it , price-wise, or other good .308 right now? Thanks folks!! Guy Hawkins
  12. Thanks guys! I will lube up after every 50-60 rounds or so. I usually run 400-500 with Federal AE but that is with a freshly lubed gun. Thank you!
  13. And if you really want to get into the match when all the slots in your category are taken, well I guess it is time to learn to shoot irons! (I really feel like giggling but I won't) ' If results are shown overall & then by division, who really cares how many in your division.' MLM the prize table would be better under the 'Trapr Plan' because of more people in the class means getting apportioned more prizes. In a non-prize match I do totally agree with you though! We used to shoot heads up without classes and I liked that. Nothing like competeing againsted a major caliber tricked out comped gun with a minor caliber stock Glock.
  14. I shot the other day with some Wolf ammo (62gr .233) and I noticed my bolt carrier assembly was dry after about 100 rounds and it was having trouble chambering the round. I have to admit I had not had the rifle out in 2 years (hard to believe it has been that long) and it is possible that the lube had drained off the carrier and maybe the rifles chamber was getting hot and was causing the chambering problem. I thought that since the steel case doesn't seal to the chamber as well as a brass case that maybe there is some blowback which would cause the loss of lube. Anyone have to lube more using Wolf? Thanks! Guy Hawkins
  15. WOW Guy, this is an ARVN dude shooting a suspected NVA bad guy, I would hate to see it if I showed up to your matches with irons?? I would put up more of a fight, in this case. Jimmy Jimmy, Just don't show up with handcuffs on and you will be fine! LOL! Guy
