  2. trijicon rmr. run great on G35's and should fit your hoslter nicely.
  3. +++1 on Mark Housel. Fantastic work, quick turnaround, all around great guy to work with.
  4. What a great match! With super weather to go with it. Definitely better than back in snowy PA. Smitty and the entire crew ran a fantastic operation. Great, challenging and fun stages. The RO's were fabulous. Universal has really become a shooter friendly range facility with plenty of shade and other amenities. Interesting thread running about the MSSC scoring system. I thought it was awesome and hope other big matches can start using it. Thanks to everybody who helped make the match a wonderful event and congratulations to all of the winners.
  5. From another shooters perspective, with no computer techie background, the MSSC system was great. Show up, sign in, get your card and go shoot. No sheets to worry about or old school sticky labels. This was 21st Century scoring at a truly world class event. Don't see it being practical or cost effective for a club. PS still seems to be the best for that venue. It is good to see other options for the sport which will hopefully drive greater innovation and competition for the best products and services for big matches and club matches alike. Would love to hear some feedback from the RO's about the learning curve and ease of use.
  6. I think I got mine at the home depot.
  7. Bladetech. Easy mounting on ELS with ELS system or tech-lock, adjustable tension screw, no issues with rigidity or comfort. Use one with an STI and Glocks for 3 gun and never had a problem.
  8. Thanks to Mark, Alan, the RO's and the rest of the support crew and staff. Outstanding match. Love the high round count, definitely on the calendar for next year.
  9. Have you read Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell? Great book on how to reach perfection. One of his theories is 10,000 hours of practice. That's 40 hour weeks for 5 years or something close. Discounts the "natural talent" myth on a lot of levels. It does talk about opportunities and timing, which likely lead to the perception of "natural talent."
  10. I don't think they have a 4x4 but the Chevy Traverse meets all the other requirements. Bought mine specifically to support going to the range and moving my own gun gear and targetry. I call it an MRAP (Mobile Rifle And Pistol carrier). More cube than a Tahoe. 24 MPG on the highway. Seats 7 comfortably if you aren't carrying gear. I think it was the Motor Trend SUV of the year when it came out in 2009. Put a Yakima carrier on top for the long guns and bikes when I make my frequent PCS moves. Chevy did get a bail out so I saw it as investing in my own company...
  11. For the record Mark's previous Military discount included sending products at zero cost to deployed Soldiers. And I'm not talking dillo tools and dry rub, i'm talking mounts, optics, uppers, stocks, etc. I know DOZEN's of Soldiers who have been on the receiving end of his largesse. He is as pro-warrior as they come in my book.
  12. Open - Cause like Ricky Bobby said, "I wanna go fast." Limited - It's fast too and that's what I use in 3-Gun Production - That's what I carry so I want to be proficient with it SS - It's the classic, it's a challenge, it makes me want to go fast again 3-Gun - The only thing better might be 4 gun, or maybe sex
  13. Ken, We used PractiScore last weekend on my old iTouch and fell in love. Can't thank you enough for streamlining the scoring and speeding it up. We read the results at the end of the match with no waiting or standing around. Outstanding. Donn Fort Campbell Action Shooters (USPSA at heart but unaffilated due to installation legal restrictions)
  14. My brigade oredered P-Mags for everybody last spring in anticipation of our current OEF deployment. We got them all in, OD Green with windows, and before my battalion could issue them we were told to return them because the feed lips were cracking. We sent them all back and a few weeks later got black ones with windows. During our JRTC rotation we had problems with the magazine catch scraping the top lip of the notch where the magazine catches just enough to make the magazines not catch. It didn't happen to all of them, just some, but the result was you could pull the magazine straight out without hitting the mag release button. The only other problem I've had is that a newer full magazine is difficult to seat in an M4 with the bolt locked forward. Was doing some drills the other day and tried it with all 7 of mine, the newer ones were stiffer, the older ones much more functional. I could do it on the new ones, but I had to bang on the bottom of the magazine as opposed to just seating it in like all of my other mags. It was like seating my 20 round SVI mags in an Edge. By contrast the new aluminum ones we have were no problem.
  15. Great targets. Recommend the MGM and the R&R flash targets. Both provide great down range feedback.
  16. Sign up for an Airborne Ranger contract. No matter which Ranger Battalion you go to you'll get great training, plenty of operational experience and if you want to migrate to other Special Operations Forces you will have all of the critical basic skills to excel.
  17. Kudo's to Max and Travis for an outstanding weekend of training and shooting. Everybody I talked to had a wonderful time. I met and exceeded my goals for the weekend and am confident the rest of the class did as well. Max and Travis are two professionals who really know how to break the sport down and get people focused on the pieces that are most important for them to work on. I'd recommend the course to anybody who wants to improve their shooting. Big thanks to Bobby for putting the weekend together and Alan for building the range and starting the East Alabama Gun Club. After four tours at Benning it's great to finally have a good club so close. And more thanks to Bobby for lending me and half the class guns so we could shoot!
  18. Can't view the video because of the government censors but from all the comments it sounds like it was a great match. Our local FOB range will be up and running on Thursday and we'll have a 3 gun match as soon as the multi-gun war outside the FOB slows down a bit. I hate it when geo-politics gets in the way of competitive shooting! Donn
  19. They work good in combat and in the sport. Used with HK mags there is no drop free issue at all. I have one on all three of my personal AR's and my M4 at work. Donn
