  1. Bull$#!+ It's supposed to be 40 and raining! Oh!! well that makes all the difference. ..Beach Day! Lets see, 39 and snow or 40 and raining, sounds like cold and wet either way....I need to move to a warmer place....
  2. Going from gen 3 to a gen 4 pistol, the gen 4 is made for a mag release for either side. Gen 4 mags will work for gen 1-4, gen 3 or previous will only work on gen 3 or previous....I though that they would work if you had the mag release on the left on a gen 4 though
  3. They are nice base pads, I like grams springs and followers in STI tubes and the TTI springs and followers in SV's
  4. I have not changed the rear sight on my STI Tactical, but, I do know of a friend that changed his out with a 10-8 u notch rear for a Novak cut. Very little fitting on the sight to be tapped in with a punch. Hope this helps.

    iPhone 5 Ugh...

Ok, I know this post is for phone cases, but, does this really mean Sarge is going to have a smart phone...texting....e-mail....and the web....on a phone! Can't wait to see what apps he will have on it.
  6. I had a person last year at the Ohio match who had to have a magazine in to go hammer down. He told me this before I had him make ready, he had a empty magazine to do it with and asked if I wanted to hold it for him during the cof. After he completed the cof he unloaded and showed clear, and I handed him the empty mag for the last part, he removed the empty mag before putting the gun in his holster. Once the range was clear he thanked me because he had some ro's that made a big deal out of him needing a mag to go hammer down, I thanked him for telling me up front before the cof. I think the people that have these types of pistols should do it with a unloaded mag, only came across that one all of last year and he told me up front.....making it a whole lot easier.
  7. I use 11 coil on my 140's, 13 coil on 170's. Never ran into any problems. Read the mag tuning tutorial on the FGW page in the venders section. Hope this helps.
  8. Depends on the need, we carry bolt guns for most things, we also carry M14's for some things...it's all in what you need. Others are going to give thier opinions...but if you are carrying it for a duty gun, it depends on the accuracy you can get and the need for a semi auto gun. Never shot the AR 10 SASS, my bolt gun shoots under .5 moa, I'll give up the semi auto gun for the precision and we usually go out with 4-6 precision guns on a incident.
  9. I had some done by an engraving company, the only problem was they had a $50.00 min. Had a bunch done at once making it worth while, after the min was meet, they were $5 a tube. Plus they didn't care that it was gun parts.
  10. Just got home from the poll's, 20 minutes total.
  11. I have an STI Tactical that I had hard chromed a few years ago, haven't had any issues yet, carry it everyday in all weather.

  15. Got to love guns that are made from recycled plastic
  16. I have to bump this to the top, it is to funny, and the fire fighters I know haven't found the humor in it.
  17. Thanks to all of you, yes it is true, I am older...and possible wiser
  18. Kevin, Glad to hear it turned out good, it helps when you square it up first and then go off that. Just remember, you did the work and saved yourself $$$$ by doing it, nobody can take that away, just something about doing a quality job by yourself.

    STI

My Ranger II says Georgetown Texas, and STI's website says that all are made in Georgetown Texas with the exception of the GP series and the Spartan, its under the FAQ's page.
  20. I just picked up a single stack....in 45acp. I thought about a getting a trojan 40 but got a good deal on a trojan 45 from a friend. Now I need to get classified in SS.
  21. Kevin....you beat me to it, I was on SC website checking that they have everything that would be needed. They have it all, mags, holster, mag pouches, belt, and the different holster attachment for IDPA. I have made many purchases through SC and they are great, if you have any questions just call them.
