redwoods
What can I do to modify My Benelli M2 to keep from getting my finger and palm burnt? How about some soft velcro on that part of the barrel? I dont want to have to wear gloves. I point my finger when I shoot. and my palm, right between my thumb and wrist gets hit sometimes with a hot barrel. Jaxshooter
Anything you attach the velcro with is going to burn or melt unless you use some hitech space age glue. In the old days they made a leather sleeve for side by side shotguns that slipped over the barrels to keep from getting burned by guns with splinter forends. You might want to try something like that. They wet the leather and molded it to fit.

el pres
Move your hand back some. Barrle hot, chamber not and reciever not.----------Larry I still remember the day I found out that shotguns get real hot after some rounds !!! It was on an 870 but they are all hot !! Ouch, hot, ouch, hot, ouch, ok dont touch that part again !!! If you really have to hold it that way then like some guys, your going to have to wear a glove on that hand at least... I now shoot an M2 and my pointing finger is on the mag. extension nut... Edited June 14, 2008 by DIRTY CHAMBER

LadyinBlue
I am so glad to hear that men also complain about the barrel being too hot. I've smoked my hand several times and thought it was just girly thing!

Or you could get a Remington. They don't get near as hot. Mainly due to the fact that they only run for short periods of time. Are you heading down to Pueblo next week? If so I'll see you there. BlackBuzzard
Weak hand glove is standard for me if round count is at all significant. Extra points are not awarded for burnt hand at unloadASC. 30 rounds of shotshells in a stage ???? Heck yeah I got my glove on! BB
gotm4
Yep it's easiest to modify the hand instead of the gun. I wear a weak/support hand glove (Oakley or Mechanix) when shooting shotgun.

uscbigdawg
If you shoot faster, the gun has less time to cook your hands. My philosophy (kinda) since going to a Benelli and ditching the glove. Rich
benny hill
I think we need to make a list of the michael jackson's shooting shotguns & post them. Real men don't need a glove mostly because we have a thick calus built up from being burnt.
TRUBL
You need to ask the Currents what they've added to their shotguns......some sort of 3M body mold that goes on both sides of the rib down to the fore arm. They gave me some for my open gun and it works slick.....the rib still gets hot, but not enough to burn you. and the adhesive works great!! No more burnt hands here!!! CraigS.
Randy - Try the cooley twist so your hand stays on the foreend , or better yet, switch to weakhand loading! -Craig
