Jaxshooter
I am changing from N-320 to Tite Group in my Limited gun. I am using Zero 180 gr JHPs and loading long 1.180. Approximately how may grains of Tite Group will I need to make major loading long? Edited April 7, 2007 by Jaxshooter
Dan Sierpina
I'm using 5.1 grains, 5" Shueman barrel. I'm using 180 Zero FMJ-TC's not hollow points. That load gives me a comfortable cushion on the power factor. But, I used to shoot under the old power factor too
Sean Gaines
4.7 gr getting me velocities right at 940fps
dajarrel
My little recipe book shows my load to be 5 gr of TG with a Montana Gold 180 gr FMJ. I load to 1.16 with Federal primers and Winchester brass. This gives me about 945 fps for a 170 or so PF in my STI with a 5" Briley barrel. YMMV and you really need to work the load up for your gun using a chronograph. Nik Habicht
You're really gonna have to work it up yourself --- you've already got answers ranging from 4.7 to 5; and I can get there with about 4.3 grains....
HSMITH
Took me 4.7 in a Nowlin barrel with Zero 180 JHP loaded to 1.180" with rifle primers in warm weather. Needed over 5 grains if the temperatures dropped more than about 25*. Do be careful with it in the cold, it gets really slow. I had huge swings in velocity with it with weather changes. I really don't think it is a good powder at all.
Jaxshooter
Thanks for all the replys. It gives me a starting point. I will load some and chrono. Thanks again
Pclark832
180g rainer cmj - 4.6g tightgroup - 1.130 oal. makes major in my stock glock 35.
JFD
It usually takes me 4.7 to get major in my Para @ 1.120. I just chronoed 167 at the SC Sectional, which pretty much confirmed the 168 I was getting.
Intel6
I load for my stock EDGE with a Speer 180 to 1.200" and need 4.9 grs of TG to make major. That gives me some room with the PF. Neal in AZ

RePete
4.7gr Titegroup with the 180gr Frontier RNFP gives me 986.8fps average out of my STI Trojan. PF = 177.
Mick
I played with TG as an alternate to N320. It appeared it just about always took .2 grains less of TG to do what N320 did but I doubt it's that linear... I ended up with 4.7 under a 180 @1.160"

dirtypool40
1.200 oal with TG and a zero 180. I use about 4.85 grains for a 175ish pf. Never had any pressure signs. Your results may vary. At 1.180 i'd start at 4.5 and work up.

Agreed. My TG/180 JHP load w/ my gun (SV w/ KKM barrel): 169 PF. Same load, same day, chrono, conditions, etc in my friend's Para P-16 w/ stock barrel: 160 PF. Can't explain it other than: guns vary - quite a bit.
nipplehead
4.3 tg 170 OAL 418 crimp out of a 6 inch schueman barrell with 180 grain Zero jhp. Can do it with 4.2 grains but its leaves no margin for error or tempeture varances.

Mat Price
just for S&G's I run 4.2 grn behind a 185 grn LRN out of my glock 24 @ 1.135 and I make major with it. so I would assume you need at least that with the longer OAL.
