(From a 10 point lead to 27) FM From what I heard it was worse than that. Chris had the field covered by 50 points on Thursday night and then got a little conservative. After watching Max cut his lead to 9 points on Friday, Chris went back into his usual game and stretched the lead again. He is really "in the zone" right now. Congrats to Chris! Might try emailing USPSA. They could pull the original scoresheet and check it against the entered data.David Usually the 1-hour protest period, where you can check your scoresheets against the published results and file a challenge if needed, is the limit. After that they are considered "final". ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The bigger problem here is it seems from Thomas' description that it may have been written wrong on the scoresheet while scoring the stage. Once the shooter signs an incorrect scoresheet and it's submitted to stats, it very unusual for one to be changed. How would you really know what to change it to? A keying error in stats is pretty easy (during the protest period, of course) because the scoresheet tells you what it should have been. As he said, check it before signing your scoresheet. After that, the results are "final", even if there is an error. B Yeah . . . I knew that . . . that's why I shouldn't post after a long day of running and shooting a match . . . I believe that he drew the gun before stepping back and the muzzle hit the bottom of the window frame and flipped the gun out of his hand. Now, to address the issue that is surely on everyone's mind...the Poppers. Rest assured, it's being taken care of. We consulted with Action Targets, and the steel will be redesigned to work properly. Thanks to everyone who gave me their suggestions, as well. I will repost once they are ALL updated to the proper specs. On behalf of USSA, I would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who showed, and everyone who wanted to show. I know that the next Nationals held here will be even better...and BIGGER! XRe Posted October 16, 2006 Share Posted October 16, 2006 I think the match was pretty darn sweet, personally Some up close stuff, some long tight stuff, some tactics, some straight forward. Yeah, the poppers could be a pain, and getting those corrected will help a bunch. I think Amidon had the most no-shoot hits for the whole match (on 16)!!! The funniest part of the match, though, was when TGO and Dave Dawson put $5 on whether John could hit the Popper at 35-ish on the first shot on one of the calibrations for the Super Squad on that stage... John hit it - Dave lost the bet Oh, I think Ong won the side match money... by $2-3 or so... The maddening part was that I was tied w/ his score going in to the last day heh heh... I talked to the rep at Action Target and he backs up what Phil said. They are redesigning the poppers. The only other issue were a few officiating calls that I am concerned about. Not that they affected me, but rather that they could affect the outcome of a match if not addressed. One was a very experianced RO verifying the number of shots fired by scrolling through the timer to determine if a FTE should be accessed to to targets that had no hits. The other was the same RO stopping a shooter after he hit a popper several times and giving him a reshoot because it didn't go down. That would have certainly helped me more than once. Calls like that should not happen at the Nationals. Tulsa. Tulsa was a very welcoming place. The match hotel staff was frinedly, but sadly, the facility is located too far from almost anything (although 30 miles closer than Barry). There is one place to eat dinner in walking distance and one for breakfast, other than the hotel. All the restaurants are located 3-6 miles in just about any direction from the hotel. If you took family, there is nothing at teh hotel for them so unless they want to come out to the range, they are going to be bored. Did I mention the Range? Absoulutely FANTASTIC place. When Tom Fee gets this place completed I would envision being in Tulsa twice a year for the rest of my shooting career. There is simply so much possibility there. There were tons of places to eat and many places to go sight seeing as well as a couple of casino within short (30 minutes or so) driving distance. shred Posted October 16, 2006 Share Posted October 16, 2006 There are 3-4 good food places, and a couple good bars within walking distance of the hotel, but only one of them is open at lunchtime The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful-- I saw a few give up elevators they were in to let shooters go the other direction. It's close enough and well enough supplied that if somebody ran a shuttle to the range from the hotel, shooters could easily get by without a car-- fly in, taxi to the hotel, bus to the range, walk to food, taxi back to the airport. We found two places that served breakfast, one was not open any of the three times we passed it. the other we ate at twice, but it was closed on Saturday. The Hotel buffet breakfast was filling, but not really worth the $10. There was McNeals (Not sure of the correct spelling) POUblic house about 3 blocks over and down. Good food and a 4 page beer list. I am shure there were a couple others, but we didn't find them. We did find South Peoria where there are very many fine places to eat. I would also second that Owasso seemd a bit more awake. Likely I will stay up that way next year. Or maybe down towards Peoria Ave and Route 44. A lot will depend upon the timing. Summer may see a family trip, Spring or Fall a solo trip. Again. I can't say enough about the range or the people. And that does include the Hotel Staff. No argument, they were friendly. So my question is if you didn't finish in top 16 but finished first in say "B" or "C" (140th overall), etc. you don't get to visit the table until there is nothing left?
