  1. Any idea on round count yet? Here is what I found with a search on last year's match n 9/18/2015 at 11:52 AM, Spartan-6 said: OK, folks... Bring your cleaning gear 'cause you're going to be shooting some ammo... Rifle: 190 Pistol: 170 Bird: 70 Slug: 25 See you in a couple of weeks! -6-
  2. Watch JJ's eyes and the gun. He is shooting 1,2,4,3, stop
  3. BJ won Steel Master last year shooting Optic RF, Irons in Limited and his iron sight gun in Open when his Open gun went down the morning of the Open match. He actually placed 2nd & 3rd in the overalls with his Limited gun
  4. I believe that the first dates conflicted with the MGM Junior Camp that had already been scheduled which impacted all of the instructors. To the best of my knowledge, Phil moved both the Pro-AM and Steel Challenge one week earlier. The matches will be held on consecutive weekends, just one week earlier than originally scheduled.
  5. BJ was shooting a 6" 686+
  6. Leaving tomorrow afternoon for the 18 hr drive. Who else is going to be there?

  8. The biggest issue is the last dates posted for Steel Challenge are Oct 25-28 on the other side of the country, Frostproof, FL. Not sure how both shooters and staff are going to be able to make that transition and get the time off.
  9. USPSA Nationals Multigun - April 11-15 - Las Vegas Handgun - October 13-21 - Las Vegas
  10. Open Carry presents its own set of problems that I don't want to deal with. Not saying I'm against it, I just choose not to. Pickles, Although I am an Aggie, I do have some knowledge of US geography . Dave is correct. Even though I don't need a permit in AZ to carry concealed in AZ; $60, fingerprints and a copy of my TX CHL nets me three states that do not recognize TX permits. NV, OH, and WV.
  11. Now I can legally carry in Vegas while we're at SHOT
  12. My 8 year old granddaughter with the Tactical Solutions I built up for her with the help of her Uncle B.J.. It is the Tactical Solutions AR22 LT upper with Hogue overmold handguard and grip, topped with an Aimpoint Comp M4. She likes shooting it with the TacSol Cascade Ti suppressor that is on it in the picture.
  13. Why 16? I would have figured 10 simply because ten is the base of the decimal numeral system, by far the most common system of denoting numbers in both spoken and written language Back in the day when USPSA held a shootoff after the match was over the top 16 would make up the 8 brackets for the shootoff.
  14. La Quinta Red Rock/Summerlin. NO casino! Free internet and breakfast. Queen Suite with kitchen @ $62/night and less than 10 min from range.
  15. At Steel Challenge World Championship in Piru, there is only one cone centered between the boxes.
  16. This is one of the few matches I shoot and I was not disappointed. Some of the best stages I have seen at an area match. Lots of movement, but you had to shoot also, not just hose. Thanks to all the staff and sponsors for making in happen.
  17. What happened? Make sure the battery cap is tight and has not worked loose.
  18. Tucker Gunleather - Answer for IWB, HF1 or HF2 for OWB
  19. It was a well run match, friendly officials and a beautiful setting. The match is already scheduled for Memorial Day weekend next year. Not a bad place to spend a holiday weekend and get some time in the mountains while you're there.
  20. They missed a M&P .40 magazine full of Hydrashock in my carry on when we flew to Nationals in Vegas. Scared the hell out of me when I found it somewhere over New Mexico.
  21. I picked up a S&W 422 today for $100. It's in good shape and is a cool little .22 (almost looks like a baby 41). I'm going to set it up for my 7 yr old granddaughter's rimfire steel gun. BJ is going to see if Hogue can make some thin stocks for it and we are trying to come up with a good way to mount an Aimpoint Micro. The gun seems so much better than the plastic .22's that are out there.
  22. John is still pretty quick. BJ was helping him out at Steel Nationals one afternoon and they were talking about where time was lost. It went right back to what Brian said in getting the gun out of the holster. They were practicing on Showdown and John's first shot was 1.2-1.3 and BJ was under a second. He looked at BJ and said OK we're going to race. They started racing on draws to the 25 yd gong. They both got draws down around .89. Was fun to watch and BJ thought it was way cool to be shooting with one of the legends he has only read about since starting the sport.
  23. Major Match Results only go back through 9/24/10. I can't find results for matches earlier in the year. Found it, never mind
