How do I remove the base pad on a glock 33 rounder?

I found that using a clamp on the sides as close to the pad that you can get to compress the mag.  Then pry them off. You probably can search YouTube for a better description also

Thanks. I tried you tube and there was no info on the 33 rounder . Do they come off the same as the rest of the Glock mags?

I obviously have no experience with any glock mags.

Yes, they come off like other Glock mags. It might be more difficult because of the increased spring pressure.

There is a small tool that you can buy. But I would advise you to save your money. Just use a smal, punch. I had no Glock experience either.

I push the button in with a clock tool then perch the edge of the base pad on the edge of my bench vise and beat the mag body off with a hammer with a nylon face.

Those Glock mags are tougher than jailhouse meat.

Hello: Use a 1/8" punch and push the inner retaining plate up about and inch or so to remove it like other Glock base pads. The retainer is cup shaped so it has to go in further so you can remove the base pad. Thanks, Eric

Got it. Just pushed the plate in with a allen wrench put the pad on the edge of the bench and pushed. It was not easy but it did come off.

The Tool helps a lot and makes it a lot easier without damaging the "tabs" to help lock the base pad on the body.

It takes a combination of about 25 different cuss words to get them off.

It is easier if you have 4 hands.

while resting the extension on a sharp right angle surface, push the pin in and down on the mag body at the same time. it will come right off.

Wrap some electrical tape around a pair of channel locks.  Push in the pin and squeeze gently near the base pad.  the plate will slide off.

FYI- these glock mags may stick in your gun unloaded- loaded they stick ever tighter in the magwell- they have to be filed/sanded on to reduce the width so the empty mag is drop free- then when loaded they "expand" and stick in the magwell even though you have sanded and fitted them when unloaded- the 33 round Korean mags are better and the clear plastic 33 rounders are even better-

I have 5-Glock 33rd mags . 2-with TF extensions and 3-stock. The 3-stock ones drop free empty or loaded. 1 of the extended one's won't drop free either way and the other extended one only drops free when empty. Don't really care on the extended one's as they hold 41 rds and shouldn't need to reload in USPSA unless there is a malfunction. In that case I will just yank it out. If I ever go to an outlaw match then I might look into a fix. Even then the 33 rounders should suffice, there is always a place to reload on a long course.

Hello: I would add 2 Magpul 21 round magazines to your magazine collection. They work great for reloads on classifiers and drop free very easily. I have noticed some lowers drop mags easier than others even using the same mags in both. Thanks, Eric

Thanks Eric, I have 2 - Magpul 17 rounders for reloads they seem to work well.
