  1. Welcome, lots of good information here!
  2. No steel inserts and no steel frame/grip.
  3. I don’t know, I’m guessing an email to SA would answer that question.
  4. I’m wondering if those are just some machining marks that you could polish out with a Dremel tool with a felt tip and Flitz or some similar polish.
  5. I’m guessing the guns will vary from build to build. I have 2 that are great, my buddy also has a couple that are terrific and one more friend has a nice one too. It’s possible we might not have as much experience as you though.
  6. I haven’t, but I’m just curious why someone would do that considering the Platty is so reliable and has such a great trigger, thanks.
  7. Have no issues with the mag catch wearing causing issues with the mags. The two Platypus groups on Facebook have no posts regarding mag problems. Hope this helps. Grip angle is a 1911 grip angle.
  8. We use wood strips held down with duct tape.
  9. Just curious as to the cost of the new upper? Thanks.
  10. I thought that transitioning from target to target would have been faster with a 17.
  11. I’d go with a milled 17. Dot will be a little lower which is ideal. I shot a couple of 34s for years and I think that was a mistake.
  12. No, I don’t see that happening. Guys are using after market ones with success.
  13. Good luck, if they come through on your trigger weight, you won’t be disappointed!
  14. Trigger is excellent. My first gun came in at 2 1/2 lbs. when I ordered my second one I asked for the same trigger weight and they delivered! I did not try to tune it ar all. If you want a lighter trigger, just tell them exactly what you want in the notes with your order. You won’t be disappointed.
  15. No, I don’t think so, my second Platty came in 9 weeks. Even if it is accurate, it is so worth it! These pistols are as close as can be to the custom pistols I’ve owned in the past. The really fun part of it is designing something that is your very own. If you don’t want to wait, just check their in stock page daily. Those pistols are mainly all black (and are bought within hours) and can be at your FFL in 2 days. My buddy’s first was one he designed and his second was from their current stock. He loves both of them!
  16. The frames are aluminum and I’ve covered them with a rubbery grip to make them a little more sticky.
  17. Both bushings, very accurate, here’s targets at 50 ft. First is the top gun, second is for my silver one.
  18. Just wanted to post how happy I am with my two pistols. If anyone has any questions, just ask!
  19. Welcome from the shores of Lake Erie!
