Strange Objects In My Yard

Recommended Posts

I'm digging out the dead arborvitae (they died since I planted them last year, lucky that had a guarantee) along our back property line and digging even deeper to make sure the new ones are properly planted. I'm digging up rocks, chunks of asphalt, bottles, and strange circular objects. (When our club went to expand one of the ranges, we uncovered part of a car. That's southeastern Michigan for you)

How to describe them? Take a flat wire mesh donut, two and a half feet in diameter, with a one-foot hole in the middle. Skim it with concrete so the whole thing is maybe an inch thick. Install grommets or washers around it, and attach a numbered plate less than an inch wide by four or five inches long. Thats the thing. Think big, flat, concrete frisbee, with wire mesh reinforcements.

The damned things are all along the property line. If I ever find out who put them there and why, I'll hunt them down and kill them. If they're already dead, I'll dig them up (easier than digging out these things) and violate the corpse.

Anybody have any idea whatinthehell they are?

PUT THAT BACK! There's a submarine lost out in the ocean because of you! :D

(waaay back when I lived in Michigan, there was a big hoo-hah about the Navy wanting to build a huge buried super-ULF antenna across half the state to talk to submarines out in the ocean. I have no idea if it was ever built)

Not sure what it is, but I bet it has something to do with Jimmy Hoffa.

No actually I believe that they found him. It was in a house on the West side of Detroit. At least I think they found old blood or something, if not a body.

Ray

P.S. Just to keep on topic... I have no idea what Pats concrete things are, but I'll throw my vote in for some sort of concrete supports, as mentioned earlier.

Hoffa's blood was not found in the Detroit house in question, but hair found in a car was DNA matched to Hoffa in 2001 by the FBI. There is still some question about whether blood was found in the car and matched, but presently the thought is that he was garroted in the car and then the body disposed of in a manner still un-determined.

OK, all you web surfers, wax up your internet boogie boards and get to work. I fianlly dug one out that was reasonably intact. 30" across, with a one-foot hole in the middle. As soon as I can, there will be photos. The ID plate on it has the following numbers:

88A20-R12-0-DOL

K0905-2

Proffesor,

This is what came up after Googling the K0905-2.

Theory:  Your land previously housed a cosmetics plant.  The objects must be prototype bulk jars. :D

That or it's from his Y2K supply of base make up he forgot he'd buried. Uh, Patrick....Dude, you're mascara is smudged. Ya' might wanna' fix it... :P:P
