Tom D.
An online retailer has these primers for significantly less than other brands I have previously used but before buying, would like to canvass the members for first hand experience (if any) Thanks! Sarge
Just type S&B primers into the search window. Plenty of pros and cons Edited February 14, 2016 by Sarge
Tom D.
Sarge, I just saw that thread! Thanks for the reply.
Sarge
Glad you found what you need. It was much easier to just refer you to a 2 page discussion than to try to explain it all. If you don't find what you need there just chime back in and we'll do our best to get you squared away

PKT1106
Every time I walk into Cabela's, they are $19.99 a box, any size.
Sarge
Every time I walk into Cabela's, they are $19.99 a box, any size. Pretty much. But they were 24.99 yesterday at the new local store.
TDA
But I just ordered another 10K yesterday from Cabela's for $19.99 and $5.00 flat rate shipping.
BASE772
They seem to be a little harder than CCI, Winchester, and Magtec's in my experience.
ultimase
Anyone find that these seem to be a little less hot? Was at a local match yesterday and tried them for the first time in my new sp01. Same load same bullet weight, only difference was the primer. Had consistent ftp and stovepipes. Did not seem to be related to mags. Switched to 1 mag of factory ammo, no problems. Switch to old loadings with same powder and same bullet, no problems.

davidb72
I have run at least 10k of them through my stock STI Trojan 9mm.They work great for me.
GJGary
Work great for me, feds softest then win/s&b in my experience. All very lightly sprung steel guns. Can't go wrong $20/k

Never heard of a primer switch being great enough to change pressure enough to cause this, maybe from magnum primerHow close to 125 are u running ????, bump it up, CZ has been known to prefer 135ish for accuracy from multiple threads in here
ultimase
I must be on the very edge of what it takes to cycle the slide. I'm going to bump the powder a bit, and also swap the recoil spring. I believe the stock sp01 recoil is 18 lbs, going to try a 14 and go from there.
jmorris
I bought 12k back in November when Cabelas had them for 17.99/1000. Haven't had any problems with them so far.
Chutist
I'm going to find out... Bought 5K of SPP today to go with my powder order.
slavex
Not a fan of them myself, but I run an 11lb mainspring in my Shadow and have problems with them regularly. With a 13lb no issues. So they are just practice primers for me
maleman000
I personally find them very similar to Cci. Hard to beat for price unless your gun requires feds.
slbrugby
I'll have to pick up 1k to try out next time I'm at Cabelas (tough to justify spending extra for CCI or WIN). When I ran factory ammo through my DVC the only brand that had light primer strikes were the S&Bs.

TJART
Work great for me, feds softest then win/s&b in my experience. All very lightly sprung steel guns. Can't go wrong $20/k Not that light if you're running S&B's.

jnr88
I've been using them in my open with total reliability. It's a hard primer but very satisfied.
