gregshin
My goal is to make my gun shoot flat as possible. Currently i'm using a 9lb recoil spring on my 147gr loads. What main spring weight would you guys recommend? BTW I normally use CCI or winchester primers.
gng4life
Wrong forum...there is a gun spring sub-forum that you should post this to. Thanks
Postal Bob
9 or 10 lb. See which makes the gun shoot flatter. For me, the 9 lb was to slow, and my follow shots were high. The 10 lb, they were right on.

The 10 lb, they were right on. The OP was asking about main spring weight, not recoil spring. I don't think you'd get a 9-10# main spring to set off Winchester primers, let alone CCIs! Aircooled6racer
Hello: Use lighter bullets also with a 17lb ISMI mainspring and 9lb recoil spring. Thanks, Eric
jcc7x7
17lbs helps get the hammer down faster than lighter ones and you can get a very light trigger pull if properly done with 17lbs. If you want to play with some other things try a flat firing pin stop, I don't notice the difference but I've got friends that swear they do!
