IDPA vest logos

I've seen many shooters like to decor their vests with different logos. That may be club names, IDPA, their name/ID, patches stitched or velcro on and even have alterations places that will copy logos and stitch them in. I know some logos might be copyrighted…like XDM, Glock, S&W, Safariland, etc. Does anyone know if their is any issue from IDPA about what logos one puts on their vests as long as they are not in bad taste or offensive…like something political in nature. But if one has your club name, IDPA, XDM, CZ, NRA, your local gun range name/log whether stitched in or patches…any issues?

I've seen a number of patches and logos vary from S&W to hello kitty to "don't tread on me" all at major matches. Half the time you don't even pay much attention to what people have on there when their vests look like they work at TGIF. Just keep it classy. ;)

I'm not sure- I know it seems like there is a clear answer but you never know any more. If I were going to majors shooting IDPA I would be sure that any patches on my vest were installed by the OEM IN THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN. Even if it is a vest available from the US subsidiary of the vest manufacturer you must be cautious of who installed the patch. Don't be fooled by the fact that the vest with desired patch is available on the website with a SKU. You don't want to train all season with your patched vest and find out just before nationals that you can't use it.

I think Wilson Combat patches are safe no matter who installs them.

No policy that I'm aware of. If you have purchased a patch then you can do with it what you will. I was designing a shooting shirt a few months back and I'm not a sponsored shooter, but wanted to use some logos. I sent an e-mail to the companies and they were more than happy to send over the image files to give to the printer.

I shot an IDPA sort of 3 gun match and wore my 3 gun gear for the non-idpa stages. Some jagoff wearing a proper, shoot me first, vest with name and logos was lamenting over the tactical ninjas there. He told the new shooters that USPSA was just fast shooting while IDPA was more about accuracy.

Anybody have some Team Viagra patches for my vest? :)

I see you guys are having fun with my thread and keeping it alive. I just want you to know I went with a clean, classy look. Large club/team name/logo stiched into the back and a nice blue IDPA one on front chest panel. Me and my vest finished 3rd MM ESP in my first large sanctioned IPDA match last weekend!

Now if I can find a logo that will help me drop 25 points maybe I can get a bump! ;)

You wouldn't wear patches in the real world, would you? that stuff will get you killed in the streets.

If you want to be operator-as-heck, just wear your real-world operator vest totally incognito, and no one will know you're a real operator (so you'll have to tell them).

I know Armadillo Concealment Vests offer the option of many different logos.... they make a Awesome product and I'm sure Becky has permission or knows as long as its in good taste the manufacturer/Company is OK with it!
