RaylanGivens
Two more to add to the collection! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407939536.003067.jpgSo is that 5 Stock II's? Do you shoot different divisions or steel with them? Nothing wrong with having multiple ones just curiousThere are 5 stock 2 9mm. I'm actually thinning them out. Giving one to my father. One I'm trading. Keeping my small frame and two large frames. So at the end I'll have 3. My small frame is my primary. I'll have one back up and one safe queen. That's cool, I wasn't being facetious, just was curious as to 5. My 2 are good as primary and a backup. Some pretty pistols though:-) oh no, didnt take it that way. 5 is excessive but they were offered to me at a pretty fair price considering how hard they are to find so i bought them. If you decide to let one go at a fair price I'm interested. You and just about everyone else following this thread are interested... :-)
Open1215
Well my lim pro has finally arrived at canyon creek!!!! I cant wait to see the finished product :-) v~6 port and a compensator Installed on a match grade barrel. On a side note. Anyone's who has had work done by him how long was his turn around? I've never done anything like this before and don't really know what to expect really? I'm thinking I will get it back before Valintins day? Is this a reasonable thought??? bayougump
Santa's fat ass dropped off #6 yesterday to my FFL. I was surprised it came in all black and not the stainless steel color the picture showed but I like all black better. A unicorn for every division now except Revo:-)

bayougump
Just got it today. The factory sights are pretty meh, it'll definitely need some trigger work and sights and magwell for SS but not shooting that division anytime soon. Hope to put a box of factory .45 cheap Blazer thru it Friday at practice
BeerBaron
nice. need to get ye a henning magwell on your eric custom too. now that I'm used to seeing the henning magwells (one on my eric now too) the factory ones looks way too small. tbh I wish the henning was even a tiny bit bigger. hercster
For me, it's not just the size of the Henning magwell but the angles and design. I instantly liked the feel of my first Tanfo but replacing the magwell with Hennings is a huge improvement for my hands. The leverage I get with my support hand really helps the stability of my grip when the action starts. For those who prefer the stock magwell, the one I took off my LC is minty and available at a good price. PM me if interested. Gord

Yea, I have thought about that. The Henning is a tad bigger. Right now though I'm still working with loads and springs as the dot seems to be jumping around more than it should. I know it's a violent gun and all but I'm gonna shoot it with a M class shooter/builder and get some feedback on if I've got the optimal parts etc in it. Foremost right now I'm focusing on shooting Limited and training and tinkering/testing whatever you wanna call it with my other guns is on the back burner. I love the Limited and thinking of selling my Stock III and replacing it with another Limited as a backup gun. On another note, the 1911 is NOTHING like the other Tanfos internally, lol. I'm glad I have a local friend, shooter, and gunsmith who works pretty exclusively on 1911's cuz I'll definitely need help on it when time comes:-)
idHawk
Even though I really liked my stippled factory plastic grips on my Match, I like these silver Henning checkered grips even more! The Match frame is ever so slightly different than the competition frame underneath the grip panels, so I had to do some minor adjustments to get them to fit right. They look great with the Canyon Creek weld-on magwell, and I love the feel of Henning grips. You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of the modifications you made to the Henning grips would you? I just bought a Match for my daughter and we really wants different grips. Also, which of Hennings grips are those? Another option would be to modify a set of Extreme Grips. I just need to know what mods you had to do. Edited December 24, 2014 by idHawk
BrazeauRacing
You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of the modifications you made to the Henning grips would you? I just bought a Match for my daughter and we really wants different grips. Also, which of Hennings grips are those? Another option would be to modify a set of Extreme Grips. I just need to know what mods you had to do. The Match frame is a little thicker front-to-back than the competition frame, so the Henning grips (large frame, full length) don't completely cover the two open spaces in the back strap of the frame. The bottom of the frame near the magazine opening is shaped differently as well, so the Henning grips won't sit flat onto the frame due to interference. I slightly beveled the inside of the bottom of the Henning grips with a Dremel so that they would clear that part of the frame, and then I offset the grip screw holes (and the recesses for the heads of the screws) a couple of thousands so that they would slide back just enough to cover the open spaces in the back strap when installed. I was really proud of myself for making them fit, until I took the gun to the range and discovered that the grips became loose after just a few magazines worth of shooting with the grips slid back on the frame a little. I was ready to throw in the towel on them and accept defeat, but came up with another idea that worked out great. I decided to use those exposed openings in the back strap to tuck in the sides of a piece of grip tape that covers the back strap to keep it in place securely. It's a nice reciprocal relationship where the grips clamp down the sides of the tape, and the tape prevents the grips from moving. I've tried using grip tape on the back strap before without tucking the sides into the grip, and the tape moves around and comes loose after a few dry-fire sessions, so it was a nice bonus to be able to keep the grip tape in place. By the way... I had issues with the grip tape covering the front strap serrations moving around after a few dry-fire session as well, so I filled in the serrations with JB Weld so the grip tape would have a nice smooth surface to stick to. No problems with the grip tape moving since I did this. Even though the checkering on the the competition frames is really nice, I actually prefer the feel of the grip tape on my Match. Thanks for the detailed explanation. Looks great. One other question that I forgot to ask... The rear sight on your Match is not standard. At least, that is not what is being shipped on them now. Did you swap yours out and if so, for what did you switch to? Looks like the same one as the Limited (Competition) model.

Looks like the same one as the Limited (Competition) model. The slide on my Match is from a 10mm Stock III that now has a .40 S&W barrel in it. It originally came installed on the Hunter frame when I bought it. I've swapped the top ends between all three of my Tanfoglios as seen in some photos I posted a few pages back. Swapping all the top ends made each gun more suitable for their intended usage, and I have a little bit of a fetish for two-tone guns.
