jayjay1
Thank you a lot! Very good point, comparing the thickness of your checkering with the one of the skateboard tape. So I will get the grip area itself done. Could you please measure the heighth of your undercuts at the trigger guard and the beaver tail up to the top of the grip piece? valerko
I'd never had patience for that. I guess my belt sander and grip tape is the way I'll go. Lol
jayjay1
That´s how I came away with it, the easter bunny brought me my grip: I love it! Thanks a lot to the forum! Edited April 20, 2015 by jayjay1

kneelingatlas
I've got a Open Tactical Sport idea rattling around my head that's going to need some drastic lighting done, so I'm thinking along these lines:
jayjay1
Whaaaaaaaaaaat??? I just finished mine, couldn´t you post this earlier!? Well-well-welly-well, the original TS is a heavy beast, no doubt, hands down. I suppose this is a 9mm, isn´t it? P.S.: You should do some filework outside of the whole barrel and drill a looooot of holes in it too. It still looks heavy..... kneelingatlas
This isn't mine, it belongs to a friend on the other side of the world.
jayjay1
Oh, great, must be a neighbour of me! Where is he from? After doing the reduction with mine, I did some dryfire but didn´t fire a single shot out of it. It´s on its way to a Büchsenmacher, to get a 9mm barrel fitted. I would worry if it would brake or not. But that´s just me, little hushpuppy I am.

To raise the grip I removed some material from the Beaver tail, but majority was removed from under the trigger guard. Just wondering where u guys have this done? Thanks I know that several people did there own grip reductions, but if you are looking for a shop to do the work look at fire-4-effect. They do great work http://www.fire-4-effect.com/CZ-TACTICAL-SPORT--MODIFICATION-PKG_p_205.html

himurax13
I had my front and rear strap checkering removed by J&L Gunsmithing. The frame fits my hands better.
zzt
I did mine years ago with a vertical belt sander. While I was at it I deepened the beavertail and undercut the trigger guard a little more. Then I finish sanded down to 1000 grip and put strips of transparent grip tape on the front and rear straps. Backstrap is shown finish sanded. Front strap is only down to 400 grit. I finished it to 1000 after this photo.
