Tactical Sports frame reduction

Thank you a lot!

Very good point, comparing the thickness of your checkering with the one of the skateboard tape.

So I will get the grip area itself done.

Could you please measure the heighth of your undercuts at the trigger guard and the beaver tail up to the top of the grip piece?

someone needs to do a step by step with pictures! I want to do this to mine and add more serrations on the front of the slide

I had posted something like this on Stuart's (CZ Guru) thread on the CZ Forum...

I've got CAD files as well as a drawing of the serrations up the slide if you want them.

I just finished mine, couldn´t you post this earlier!?

Well-well-welly-well, the original TS is a heavy beast, no doubt, hands down.

I suppose this is a 9mm, isn´t it?

P.S.:

You should do some filework outside of the whole barrel and drill a looooot of holes in it too.

It still looks heavy.....

Oh, great, must be a neighbour of me!

:goof:

Where is he from?

After doing the reduction with mine, I did some dryfire but didn´t fire a single shot out of it.

It´s on its way to a Büchsenmacher, to get a 9mm barrel fitted.

I've got a Open Tactical Sport idea rattling around my head that's going to need some drastic lighting done, so I'm thinking along these lines:

CZ-After.jpg

I think the grip lifting is - hummmm - courageous?

I would worry if it would brake or not.

But that´s just me, little hushpuppy I am.

I like the feel of the smaller grip, the factory checkering was just to bulky for me.

To raise the grip I removed some material from the Beaver tail, but majority was removed from under the trigger guard.

Wow. You really have skills. I wish someone could do this for me.

I did mine years ago with a vertical belt sander.  While I was at it I deepened the beavertail and undercut the trigger guard a little more.  Then I finish sanded down to 1000 grip and put strips of transparent grip tape on the front and rear straps.    Backstrap is shown finish sanded.  Front strap is only down to 400 grit.  I finished it to 1000 after this photo.
