RangerTrace
Since I've sold my two Wilson pistols, I'm in need of a couple good pistol bags with magazine pockets. I tried a CED two years ago, but the mag pockets were barely long enough to hold 140s. So, who makes the best one? Thanks, Trace

kmca
I just got a couple of the Midway bags. Holds my open gun, 7 magazines (just barely holds my 170's and has 2 pockets on the opposite side that will easily hold 2 100 rd boxes. For $8 plus shipping, I figured I couldn't go too wrong. One caveat, if that's all you order, Midway tacks on a "special handling charge". http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=939160870

My fault for not paying attention.

M&P Pro 9mm in one and a Glock 35 in the other. On my next Midway order I'll probably pick up a couple more. Also the full size Midway range bag has a side pocket that holds 8 mags and the internal stage bag holds an additional 6 mags. It has pockets for 4 guns as well. jasmap
How much padding do the Midway bags have? Is the padding on both sides of the pistol compartment or just one side?
kmca
How much padding do the Midway bags have? Is the padding on both sides of the pistol compartment or just one side? Feels like about 1/4" padding on both sides of the main compartment. There's also the same padding on the outside of the double pockets.
Fullauto_Shooter
I've got a blue Wilson Combat pistol bag that holds my Open Tru-Bore and 5 mag (4 x 140s and 1 x 170) on the inside of the bag. The zipper is just a bit tight getting around the 170mm mag, but no issues. Padding is nice and thick - protects both the pistol and the mags. More then enough for placing it lose in a larger range bag or carrying as a stand alone bag with reasonable care (don't fold, spindle or mutilate). Seth
I have the dillon and the pouches suck for 140s, but its a great bag. I just picked up a bagmaster bag for ammo and the quality is top shelf. EDIT and bagmaster is USA MADE! Edited July 29, 2010 by Seth
dangucci
The midway bag is a good buy. It will fit 140's and you can get it really cheap if you look for a sale.

hankfan79
I am surpised no one mentioned the bags from CED This is what I have used for about 3 years and it has worked great. They are not the cheapest but that have excellent quality. They have actually gone down in price since I got mine. http://www.cedhk.com/shop/products/CED-Professional-Range-Bag.html
RangerTrace
The CED bag was one of the first that I bought. It was well made, but the mag pouches were too short for 140mm magazines. The velcro would reach, but just barely. The Midway bags aren't as nice, but they are very functional and inexpensive. They will work perfectly for what I use them for. Thanks again for the tip, guys

Demax
CED provides a fine and usable option - the bag raincoat: http://www.cedhk.com/shop/products/CED-XL-Range-Bag-Raincoat.html# Is it possible to find a same accessory for 5.11 range bag ? Or that raincoat could be compatible with 5.11 ?
