  1. Saw it. Will see it again. Will bring anyone who served to tears. Really hits home. I highly recommend it.
  2. http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/340113 Watch the video Lanza weapon CLEARLY not an AR-15!!! If this violates any forum rules..please delete.
  3. Try finding some Pmags right now! Grrrrrrrrrr!!
  4. Until they meet the SEC ROLL TIDE!
  5. The Glock, M&P, or XD would be a much better option in the circumstance. Since most Marines are within the ages group of 18-26, it would be easier to teach young Marines how to use and maintain a pistol that is just downright easier to disassemble. However, I know the Glock doesn't meet the military standards (mainly a thumb safety) but I think some thinking outside the box was in order here. I love the 1911 pistol but for combat these days, there are some better options.
  6. They also mentioned something about a 100 round AR mag (Beta Mag I assume). I smell another "Assault" weapons ban coming. I have been watching this non stop today and I cringe as every single ridiculous statement about firearms.
  7. Awhile back I purchased a lightly used CED Chronograph from a fellow shooter on this forum. I didn't open the package for quiet some time. On the second time using it on the range, it started to smoke and literally caught fire (small flame if any). It was TOAST to say the least. I called CED to inquire about fixing it and they said it would have a repair cost of $100. Well that combined with what I paid for it would be at the price of a new one. I decided to notify the seller. I wasn't trying to complain or anything but just simply tell him that the unit might have been bad. I also asked if his other unit had any problems since he had two of them at the time of the sale. He said he had had zero problems with his current setup. He also said he would like to split the cost of the repair I refused to accept any money because that was not why I contacted him. He insisted that he share the cost since I bought it from him. After going back and forth with him on it, I gave in. YOU JUST DON'T FIND PEOPLE LIKE THAT ANYMORE!!! Big thumbs up to him!!
  8. That torture test was garbage. Nice editing after 25 yard throw. 3 rounds per mag? Notice he didn't step on the receiver (the actual part being tested) during the load truck scene? Not saying it is a bad part but that video didn't prove anything.
  9. Not to be a smart ass or anything either, but not everyone on this forum is identified by their occupations so not everyone knows who is a professional gunsmith and who just slept at the Holiday Inn Express. So it is kind of poor form to knock people living on the other side of the country for not knowing who your local gun plumber is. JMHO. Exactly.
  10. I owned a rail version. It had a sloppy barrel fit. It also had a bad bushing fit. Very noticeable. I believe it is way overpriced but it ran like a champ.
  11. When Sig first came out with their version of the 1911, they promoted the .45 with a .40 to follow. That never happened. Hopefully with Max M. there, we'll see the .40 version. Also promote a 9mm on their website but I have yet to see one in person.
  12. For the sound quality, I would like to see Days of Thunder or Top Gun on Blu-Ray possibly Real 3D or something. I also second FULL METAL JACKET and TOMBSTONE.
  13. CHUCK NORRIS??!!!!??? I sure hope they don't ruin his awesomeness in this movie.
  14. Ever tried pricing 10mm brass by the thousand? Ouch!
  15. I really wanted to walk away thinking this was the new go to military movie about Seals and the Spec Ops community in general. I just didn't get that vibe but that might not even have been what they were trying to do with this movie. If they were just trying to open the eyes of what type of courage and honor it took to serve a country...they DID do that. I did walk away being thankful...as I always have been.
  16. Mine ran fine from the factory. Use them first and then decide.
  17. Severely disappointed. Although the weapon play and use was spot on, I expected much more from the movie. The military lingo was poorly inserted into the dialogue. Could obviously tell the budget wasn't very high for this movie. Having close ties to the spec ops community (Marine side), I hoped for a little more. A few cliche moments also kinda turned me off. I could almost predict a few scenes ahead of time. Someone with less military knowledge or ties to that community might enjoy the movie more than I did. I will admit that SOME of the battles were more realistic than most movies. Some of my military (prior and current) friends felt the same way I did. I don't mean to totally disrespect the movie...just guess my hope were REALLY high hearing about live fire along with a active military duty cast.
  18. Nemo, You know how picky we (us shooters) can be with proper weapon use/applications. Are you saying its good to go? I know I'm anal about proper military stuff in movies. Thanks.
  19. No reliability package on these. Just add ons. Doesn't mean it wont run...just a fact.
  20. Both knees. This also helps if you have to draw a magazine. Little bit harder to do if you weak knee is up.
  21. What happened with Dave Sevigny? I saw him on the preview video but no mention on him on their website. Just Jerry, KC, Patrick, and Randy.
