  1. I use Universal Clays for both 9mm and .40... I used to use Power Pistol... key words used to.
  2. Without any doubt at all the shooter would be bumped to Open... If you are playing by the rules, which you should be.
  3. Welcome to the forum! As the others stated its not legal to do that and shoot in Production. I agree that if you reload? Come up with a .40 minor load and you wont want to shoot 9mm.
  4. You new shooters are usually the next in line to run clubs and step up to be MD's, everyone else is burned out... Learn from our mistakes... That's why threads like this are important and this subject should get discussed frequently.
  5. 2013 will be my 5th and final year running my USPSA club. So I have a little knowledge in regards to running matches and what burns us MD's out... What really chaps my ass is not setup... it's the guys that shoot and scoot! We all bust our asses so that the match is setup all legal and on time and these people can't stay 15 minutes late to help chip in and leave the range looking better than when we started! I spend more time putting things away and picking trash out of our toolboxes than I should ever have to! This is when I crack, then these same guys don't even say thanks for all your hard work... I don't even get a free match out of the deal... So why do we do it? My wife keeps asking me the same question...
  6. One other thing that I would add is shoot targets when you see them, shoot them on the move... that will come in time and with practice... Looks good for your first match!
  7. I love Texas! Welcome to the forum!
  8. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first of many posts!
  9. I have found clever ways to game certain stages like the one in question... only to have the stage thrown out and not counted for that match!
  10. The lack of help with all aspects to running matches is what burns MD's out... That's it... and a thank you once in a while doesn't hurt either!
  11. I was out to lunch with my wife and son today, when a couple of Army Soldiers walk in an sit down for lunch. I look at my wife and tell her I would like to buy them lunch, she says do it! The look on their faces when I buy their lunch and thank them for their service was priceless! Random acts of kindness are good for the soul!
  12. Training? What's that? I guess that's why I will never get out of B class!
  13. Here is my DPMS Panther AR... Nothing fancy but I love it!
  14. 2009... 3 majors 2010... 2 majors 2011... 1 major 2012... 0 majors I am beginning to see a pattern here.
  15. I used PP for a year or two minor loads in Production and it was just fine... I switched to Universal Clays and haven't looked back... Must softer recoil in my opinion.
  16. IMO the issue is RO's don't consistently enforce it. Some guys are allowed to game it while they force others to follow the rule thus granting an advantage to some. That is exactly my point... You can take 5 RO's and you may get 5 different calls or interpretations of the rules at any given time... Thus "The Human Factor". Some RO's will make the call and some don't... As long as this sport is all volunteer it will never change... it is what it is.
  17. It can't get much worse! Happy Birthday!
  18. No offence but I would hate it if my wife was a shooter... I need my time with the boys.
  19. I grabbed the microphone and made an ecceptance speech at the FL Open a few years back... The funny thing was I was 3rd Place C class in Production... It was a "you had to be there" moment!
