  1. I've had great results with the STI spacers. Better than with the Joey Hardy steel spacers, and the STI spacers hasn't needed fitting, other than trimming to length in my mags. I run them with grams 9mm followers, and they are 100% reliable.
  2. It seems to me that the APEX Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit includes several components not manufactured by S&W. If that's the case, it may be legal for USPSA Production, but it's not legal for IPSC Production.
  3. One way to do it, assuming your webserver is Apache: in a .htaccess file: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/store/testdirectory http://www.brianenos.com/store/announcement.html
  4. Yeah, I been shooting Standard Minor since 2004 with a brief foray into Production.
  5. I've have better results over several year, shooting my .22lr conversion kit indoors than my 9mm top end. Not sure if it's noise or something else. Perhaps you could try a .22lr gun and see if thats's better for you indoors?
  6. While we each have our preferences in which parts we like, they may not be right for you! I'd suggest looking around at your local matches, and asking to try as many 2011 guns out as you can. That being said, I'm partial to parts from the following: Barrels from Schuemann. Safeties fra SVI. Ignition parts from Extreme Engineering. Other small parts from Wilson (bulletproof series), EGW and Ed Brown.
  7. Slide cuts are fine for Standard Division. The Henning Competition Magwell and grips should fit the box, but 140mm mags won't fit.
  8. We expect everybody to help set up and most to help tear down. If you don't, and haven't worked out an arrangement with the Match Director in advance, you don't shoot. That works well, for the most part.
  9. RSS can be used to feed both Twitter and FaceBook. I've used http://dlvr.it/ for that for quite a while.
  10. If the magwell is less than 45mm +1mm, you're good to go. That's incorrect. Classic division has additional restrictions, besides fitting the box: Magazine well openings cannot exceed a maximum outside width of 35mm See item 16 in Appendix D3.
  11. Production shooters, especially, should pay attention to the restrictions, particularly: "Aftermarket parts, components and accessories are prohibited, except as follows:" (aftermarket magazines, iron sights and grip panels are allowed). I.e. no aftermarket springs, etc.
  12. As Nik has correctly stated, the tolerance is for manufacturing of the the box. You might meet a 225.0001x150.0001cm CNC-milled box at a match, and your gun would have to fit that.
  13. Hi Franziska, It's similar to the german SuRT.
  14. If the barrel length is 5.25" (133 mm) then it can't be used for IPSC Production Division.
  15. Doing an overtravel cut on a stock sear goes quite a bit beyond the "minor detailing" that's allowed in IPSC PD.
  16. The proposed change was rejected at the IPSC General Assembly. IPSC PD triggerpull will continue to be 5 lbs for at least the next 3 years.
  17. Since you're in NZ, I presume you'll want to use it in IPSC "Classic Division"? If so, you might have an issue. Accessory rails are not allowed in "Classic Division" (see item 16, appendix D3 in the 2012 IPSC Handgun rulebook), and all the SIG 1911 Tactical Operations are equipped with accessory rails, as far as I know.
  18. To avoid having 4 layers of belt overlap in the front, I had my underbelt overlap in the front and the overbelt overlap in the back.
  19. Any holster suitable for Limited under USPSA should be fine for IPSC Standard Division. Under IPSC Standard rules, you'll have to keep your equipment behind the hip bone, like in USPSA Production or Single-Stack. For IPSC Standard you'd be looking for 126mm magazines with +1 or +2 basepads. The Double-Alpha Academy basepads are probably the the largest basepad you'll be able to put on, and still be able to make your gun fit in the IPSC box. The Dawson IPSC box rule basepads will also fit.
  20. The Dawson ICE is too big to fit in the IPSC box, as far as I know.
  21. My Regional Director wrote that Handgun World Shoot XVII will be in Florida in 2014 (supposedly by a one vote majority).
  22. It even looks like a squashed version of the Classic Target
  23. Yeah, there are a couple of threads about it on another forum (but light on the details): http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=211555 http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=238542 Bob Londrigan at Brazos Custom would probably be worth consulting.
  24. It's pretty simple. Competitors register an ICS alias at ipsc.org. The match organizers include one or more IPSC classifiers in their match, and afterwards submit the classifier results to IPSC (done online from the WinMSS scoring program). I think the classification calculation is similar to what USPSA does. But many IPSC shooters and match organizers don't see any value in shooting classifiers or having a classification, and only a minority have a classification. Probably due to this, awards by class seem to be rare in Europe. I haven't yet attended a match here in Europe where classification was used for anything.
