  1. Are you looking for on-camera or off.camera flash? If it's for off-camera, I'd suggest an old fashioned manual (cheap) flash. The Vivitar 285HV is a favorite with teh Strobist crowd. I've got two of them , and they work very well for off-camera work.
  2. I couldn't agree more. After dropping my 2011 from a Safariland 012 with tension set to max, several times, I bought a Ribas. No dropped guns since.
  3. Started in 2004, when I was 30. I wish I'd started earlier, but it would have been difficult to afford back when I was in college or earlier.
  4. Dawson doesn't sell directly overseas anymore.
  5. Rob, The slide lockback is easily fixed. Just remove material from the follower. Bob Londrigan has an excellent article about that: http://www.brazoscustom.com/magart/0505.htm I use K-mag (rescomp) mag bodies with Bolen or Grams internals. It has proved an excellent combination for me.
  6. The relevant rules from the 2009 IPSC Handgun rulebook are: (Examples of DQs due to unsafe gun handling): (When does the COF end): So, if the gun wasn't holstered and the competitors hand clear of it, before it fell, it would be a DQ.
  7. I've run WinMSS using VMware Fusion on my MacBook Pro for a long time. It works great. I see no reason why EZ WINSCORE shouldn't run under Windows using either Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion or using Apple's Boot Camp to boot Windows.
  8. I've reloaded some with headstamp DAG - 9mm Luger SX, which are probably the same. I've had no trouble with them, and like that they are so clean when fired once. I think the flash hole is a little bit smaller than most brass, and may be too small for the standard Dillon decapper. I use a Lee decapping die, which works great with them. The price sounds quite fair! Welcome to the forums!
  9. I couldn't live without pdanet to use the iPhone as a wifi router (using it right now as a matter of fact). I'm a bit annoyed I had to jailbreak it, for functionality it should have had out of the box, though.
  10. If apf -d won't accept it (it seems to expect single addresses only), you should be able to add 196.0.0.0/8 to /etc/apf/deny_hosts.rules and use apf -r to reload the rules. 196.0.0.0/8 is an awfully big block of the net, though. It's 1/256 of the entire address space
  11. Nonsense, didn't he give up the Florida Open already this year?
  12. Neither video nor still images are admissible as evidence in an IPSC arbitration.
  13. If he breaks the vertical 90, it's a DQ in IPSC. Not breaking the 90 may be a DQ if a lower vertical safety angle is in effect at the range in Bali. I don't know if that's the case.
  14. I guess I'll run with the 11 coil springs for a little while longer Still, 22 rounds of 9mm in a box legal mag isn't too bad.
  15. Where the WS is held is determined by two factors: which regions make a bid for the WS, and how the Regional Directors vote on these bids. It's not decided by the IPSC Executive or the President's Council.
  16. Yes, it stinks. I'm surprised they haven't given us the option to change that (yet). You might be able to use Smart Folder Targeteer if you often search a specific group of folders.
  17. Are silicone/gel ear seals available for your earmuffs? They made quite a big difference in how well mine sealed over the frame of my shooting glasses.
  18. I seriously doubt Windows98 will be able to make any sense of a disk in Mac OS Extended format, which is the iMacs internal disk will be.
  19. But then, how long before a manufacturer offers a grip that's an inch longer, with mags to match?
  20. Since her computer uses Windows 98, the drive will be in FAT format, which the Mac can read, no problem. If it was Windows NT, 2000 or XP it might be a different story.
  21. As far as the magazine capacity race it wasn't even the rules that screwed up IPSC Production division. It was adding guns with longer magazines (CZ 75 SP-01, SIG P226SCT) to the approved list that caused the "problem". They could have been left off, and the problem wouldn't be as grave.
  22. Also up here: http://www.dsf.dk/nyheder/ipsc/1419-dagsor...l-assembly-2008 No registration needed.
  23. The agenda was posted by Vince Pinto here: http://ipsc.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=7632
  24. The cure (mandatory reloads for all divisions) is much worse than the disease (capacity race in Production) IMHO.
  25. If you can't decide which one is right for you, right now, I'd go with a long dustcover, since you can always take a hacksaw to it and make it shorter.
