  1. Yeah, but they run about $1800. I wanted one of those but I got the 5" for a HUGE deal.
  2. Just have your gunsmith build one from a 5.0" Tactical....with a hacksaw. This is a 4.20" barrel to stay within the rules for a bull barrel gun. Reduced grip length. It uses 120mm, 126mm, 140mm etc. The last pic shows a standard length mag, with an STI stock 140 base pad. It fits flush. I use those for IDPA.
  3. My dad has a place in Brookings. He is a member at the Grants Pass shooting club. They have annual machine gun shoots there. Nice place.
  4. I prefer heat gun over flame. Harbor Freight, $10. I also use it for kydex...
  5. Now to wait for the NEXT update. A whole MONTH away. Shot a 92% in SS on sunday.
  6. Silver Star: Yes, you can leave the checkering on the grip. When you stipple it, the plastic will flow in the recesses. I prefer a larger stipple, makes for a very aggressive texture. I also like a pattern, although it takes much longer.
  7. Getting closer. I'll have another go at 570 (95%) this weekend. I'm up to 94.68 in Single Stack. Replacing the 86.8127 with a at least an 89 will do it. Just in time for SSN's...
  8. Holy crap! 26k rounds in ONE year. I don't think I've shot that in the past 4 years. This past year I have shot more than ever. I shoot a weekly indoor match and two weekend matches a month if my schedule allows. I think I shot 2k ea of 9mm, .40 and .45. If I shot 6k this past year it is a new high for me for sure. I'll have a better idea for this years count. I've recieved my 2k order of .40's and I have 4k of .45 on the way.
  9. My draws are faster from Kydex due to a higher comfort level. I fear bumping the grip of the gun during the draw and watching it hit the ground. It makes my draw more deliberate, thus slower. Kydex forces a better draw for me anyway. "Up, then push out". I was getting lazy with the race holster and making an arc "Up". That is a nice looking production/ss holster.
  10. That, and I shot production last year. LOL! Not this year, it's back to SS for me. Can't wait to get my 185gr Bayou's. Looking forward to less build up. Looks like there might be more GM's in SS this year.
  11. Anyone in the NOVA area have any insight into good elemetary school districts? Looking around lower West Springfield. Maybe Reston.
  12. At least they diagnosed it right away. I lived with that pain for 6 months, off and on, before it was correctly diagnosed. 3 ER trips, CAT scan, pain meds as needed, finally an ultra sound which found the actual problem. If laproscopic, the left over air trapped in the body will migrate up and may cause immense shoulder pain. I couldn't lay flat for 3 weeks. FWIW. Wish you both the best, and a speedy recovery.
  13. Sometimes an M&P9C in an Alessi CQC. More often than not though it's a KelTec PF9 in a Nemises pocket holster, either in the pocket or appendix. It stays put nicely. It's really just to get me from home to work to home. If I'm going to be out and about I'll take the M&P. Cold Steel Spartan goes in the pocket if the gun isn't there. It weighs about the same as the KelTec.
  14. I believe that is over S&W limits, may give them a call. Try top shelf ammo, if it still won't shoot better than 8" groups I'd call Smith and see if they'll "fix" it.
  15. If it goes on like the Benelli M4, use a heat gun, vice, strap wrench or leather pad with channel lock pliers. Put receiver in vice, heat up the thread area of tube, turn off.
  16. I've done 2" groups, 5 shots. That was standing, I couldn't group it off a bench for some reason.
  17. I loaded my 180gr, .400" diameter Bayous over 5.0g (iirc) of Universal. 10 rounds through the chrono. They were as consistent as my Zero 180g JHP load. At 20y all 10 rounds were touching. 6" Schuemann standard barrel. Yielded 177pf, I backed it down to 4.9 and started cranking. I've loaded black bullets (moly) over 3.8gr of Universal for 138pf load as well. Very, very soft. STI 6" barrel.

    Draw times

I have fairly long arms, even though I'm only 6'. At your height, I'm guessing you would gain more time on a stage working on foot speed and movement. Most of the stages at major matches have some movement in them before the first shot is fired. Anyway, you didn't want to talk about practice techniques. What's your adrenaline/heart rate level like when you are getting consistent .8's? If you can do that while fairly calm, go run around and get jacked up (elevated heart rate) then try it again. I pulled a series of .8's, then .7's before hitting a .69. Then I stopped. My adrenaline was flowing, hands were shakey, but my movements were explosive. For me.
  19. First thought, ammo. S&B may not work out well in your barrel. Second, if the groups are fine at 15, and the bullets are NOT tumbling, then the groups at 25 can't be that bad. Mechanically speaking.
  20. I still shoot .45 because I'm too stuborn to build a new top end for my 1911. I like the BIG holes that SWC's make too.
  21. Not 20/sec on one pull, but they could cycle that fast on semi. Don't think there is any ATF involvement with semi autos. I think the M&P might make a good op system to try it on.
  22. Very point! So much room in the sear housing. I have a mint condition STI 2011 single stack grip, plenty of room for electronics and batts.
  23. Beautiful Gun..! Can you tell me what Mag Release Button that is please? It's referred to as "Infinity® Left Side Checkered Magazine Release Button". That looks VERY ambidextrous to me. Same shape as the other side.
