  1. Sure sounds like your ammo... Do you case guage every round?... Have you recently changed bullet brands?..I "paint" a round with a red majic marker then slam chamber it and check for scrapings on the marked round... Since the gun has been running before seems something has changed???
  2. XTR 12, still in the safe.... Doesn't look like T&N is doing much with it????....
  3. Try jet.com..... You get a discount for 3 items, then no more. If the razor is listed you get 10/15 % off. I've used it 3 times,, so I longer get a discount.... Got a Venom for less than $200 shipped. It works. Sometimes you can TALK to someone @ Optic Planet and rangle a discount.
  4. I know I can rely on my CZ Scorpion carbine. Added the HB spring kit and AK style mag release. Busted a few mag lips from jamming mags during reloads at 1st. Then got some T/F mag extentions (very few mag changes needed anymore) AND the metal feed lip mags. Remember, it was /is a sub machine gun before offered in a semi auto.. well designed. Yes, I also have a Taccom barreled AR style gun, runs just fine.
  5. The one on my gun.... Read the fed. gov. limits on output The rifle is a CZ Scorpion, laser is"Piney". I have 2 more with a different name's on the box BUT they look the same. E Bay $25.00..I have quite a few match's shot with it BUT I don't always have it turned on. Bright in the Arizona sun. Plenty good enough for our needs.I'm not intersted in getting into a debate... Buy whatever one you wish.... Buy the rechargibile batteries & charger (guess where).
  6. The one on my gun.... Read the fed. gov. limits on output
  7. Dig a little deeper (enos).... You need not spend BIG $$$$, as the Gov. limits power output.... $25.00=$250.00.. Go green.
  8. Is there a current coupon code for MBX accessories, shipping, etc.?...
  9. Taccom + good pick, I've got the ramped barrel, BUTyou have to relieve the bottom of the 9mm bolt your going to use, IF you don't use their 99m bolt.... Since your getting their upper you should be good to go.
  10. Nitrated barrels, tuff stuff..... I have been lucky so far..Most of these barrels have been near spec on, none required a deep ream (Probably would have needed a carbide reamer and I don't have one)).... As I said, all have been very close to spec with just a minor "shine" towards the bullet end after the reamer check. Go slow and LOT"S of grease (I use grease too see if I'm cutting, I can see any cutting/residue). The "plunk" test is your friend.....The CZ Scorpion needed nothing (Remember, it was a sub-machine gun before it was a semi-auto). Ingenious how it's modular built. It has to be taken appart in a certain order. Just remember, you can't have too many guns, BUT you can get close!
  11. 1st., I'm not a gunsmith, just an avid tinker. I've built 4 each 9mm/ AR's as "light weight or bare bones" as I can....3 with "pencil barells" and have used the Faxon 16", 2 each Spinta 16" one SS the other 4140 (Good price). Taccom (ramped w/ 5.5" barrel/Blitzgrig hyd. bolt), PSA 16" non pencil (working on that). I've been able to experiment with various drop in single stage trigger groups. The Taccom 5.5" ramped barrel/ aluminum extention, (use their bolt or modify yours, simple mod) model "points" quickly it is noticibly lighter. None of these builds have enough rounds thru them that I can DEFINATLY say I like one better than other. (Leaning toward the Taccom AR set up)....THAT said, My CZ Scorpion carbine has always been a runner,... I've put many rounds thru it. Different bullet weight's from 95 grn. to 147's. I was able to shoot a highly modified, (had all the bells and whistles) SIG MBX yesterday (probably a $3000.00 +gun). Very, very nice shooter... Don't turn your nose up on the new 9mm carbine from Ruger.... lot's of good reviews.... I have the Clymer finish chamber reamer and Clymer "throut"reamer. I do check all, generally all have been in spec, some will lightly remove a tad of metal near the bullet end, all have passed the "plunk" test @ various OAL's. BUILD or BUY, enjoy!!!
  12. Good deal! No changes. ... lock it up then.. No need to carry on.
  13. Probably NOT a rumor... A buddy with good info says our friends at USPSA are coming out with some magazine restrictions for PPC..... You know there has been some serious whinning from within our shooting ranks. Why can't "they" allow the class to develope on it's own?... IF a 50 round magazine or drum works well?... We will all have one, an advantage or not?.... I see more and more 32 round stages locally, just to force a reload. Pretty soon, the "rule book" will be size of the "Bible"....So what if PPC is the high overall shooter in a match??, somebody has to "win"....
  14. Yep, it works.... Use the LEE 9x18 carbide bullet seating die "upside down" (take the guts out) and the Lee 40 S&W push case sizing set up. LUBE the cases... Single stage press is the best. All on Ebay... Search the net... It's all on there..... Your pushing the top of case through the upside down carbide neck 1st.....
  15. If you take value in to consideration??... Hard to beat the Canik SFX. Don't be impatient... $460.00 or so.... (I picked one up for $400.00, never fired, but "used"). I put the Glock stock striker spring in, big help. The recoil spring can be lightened (Canik form, lot's of good info). The Vertex Venom 6 moa dot is holding up just fine so far, (buy it from "Jet.com" & save 15%). The gun IS accurate!
  16. Got 3, I get 22. Good looking, lot's of "style" points..... Well made as always.
  17. Got my C/O classification shooting the Canik SFX w/ the Venom 6 MOA dot. The gun is very accurate. The trigger is very good out of the box, (I "tinkered" just a bit, can't help it). I did get the Sprinco white recoil spring set up, just to try it. I was removing coils from the stock Canik guide rod and would have gotten it down to my liking soon. Polished a few parts. Bought the TF Canik mag extention's (why not). probably didn't need them?.... Comes with MetalForm mags..... What's not to like, especially for the price??.. I can't make up my mind if I like the 147 hand loads better than the 115's or 124's.... Leaning toward the 147's & N320....We shall see... You would be hard pressed to beat this gun for performance and value...... Picked up a second one for the son, should he want to shoot CO. Home Depot & Glock parts fit here and there if you must..........
  18. On the way... says 22... Will post when they arrive. (Gray to match the upper was $5 each more, would have taken more time, red/black will be fine). Be careful of your OAL... I loaded 1.145 x 147FMJRN ... (SpringCo "white spring"). Just a hair too long for that particular bullet contour, going to 1.12 OAL. May have been nose drag in mag????.The gun is very accurate (Vortex Venom 6MOA dot).

    Canik tp9sf

Hey, look for the SFX ....If you ever want an optic ??, you will have the best of both worlds..easy to change back to a regular sight..For 3 gun also.
  20. Ordered today.. Got a heads up from TF. These are specifically for the Canik .....Not CZ ones. Will fit a legal gauge. No Gray ones, got the red on order. IF yours fit a USPSA gauge your go to go and DON'T need this info.... No flames, please.
  21. I'd take another look at the Canik SFX...Very well made and very accurate!. Hard to beat for the money.... I usually shoot PPC or Open w/a 2011 9mm. I've bought 2 of the SFX's. (Couldn't pass the 2nd. one up, guy needed quick cash). The mags (Megar) work. TF is soon to have a Canik specific 140MM legal base pad for the 20 rd. mag. (22 rds.) if you got to have more.. The Megars are simple to clean... Check the Canik forum out or some of my posts....Lot of little cheap tweak's can be done... I'm running the Vertex Venom 6 moa dot.. Works well.. look at some of the Canik posts here also..... Yes, I have a few Glocks, shot in GSSF only now.

    new Canik TP9 SFX

Well, I just started shooting one in Carry Optics. I did take the guide rod apart and remove a few coils from the spring, played with a gen3 Glock recoil spring and button, striker spring . Bought the SpringCo set-up w/white & red springs..... The white spring is just fine... (I always get slide lock up). I did polish the internals a bit. I'm using the Vertex Venom 6 moa dot.... The grip angle is different from my 2011, The "dot" is always on top or so it seems????.... (Doing some practice so I can quickly????? find it). Even though I have small hands the thicker grip seems to feel a bit better at this point, maybe 2011 ittis?. I did move the mag release to the right side (again small hands, no bad 180's on reloads). The trigger and reset start out just fine AND not much work required to make them both better. Even the mags (MEGAR) are quality items. Presently using 124 FMJHP's x n320. The gun is VERY accurate.... I'm no GM or even close to one...Aiming and getting the "A" head shots is doable. Not much work or $$$$ will give you a very competitive package. BUSY, busy, year with "carry optics" and PPC (CZ Scorpion carbine) (The laser is a hoot for left hand shots). Go to the Canik forum , competition section, check out "Frankthetank", he has gotten lots better as he shoots more.....

    Canik 23rd. Mags

The "slide racker/screw/assist"....It comes with the gun, all factory. I can't see how USPSA can bend the "rules" to fit the situation?????... I have arthritis in my hands, it helps me....NO advantage gained, just a little more comfortable for me. I don't have a "box" but it should fit anyhow????....
