  1. Beat me to it! The one on the right is like the bullets I used for pins in the early 90's. I it DPS steel and DTR USPSA this past weekend...where were you?
  2. Nice to see all the different makes and models up there. I really like Production class.
  3. Like Pat said, the Leck's were a big part of the Mississippi Classic in the 90's. Cheryl was a sweet, warm person who gave much back to the sport she loved. RIP, Cheryl. Cliff Cargill
  4. I am not sure about what kind of lacquer that was used, but I will check with Matt Moorer, Mr. Fixit for the match. He came up with that idea back during the 2004 MS (monsoon) Classic. We have since always kept a couple of hundred targets stashed upstairs just in case. He brought out his compressor and sprayer and just sprayed the stuff on. Works good doesn't it? Matt Moorer= "MattGyver"
  5. It killed the match I was going to in Gonzales, LA.
  6. Hey buddy.. . I don't clean mine until having to go to the ER for stitches from burnt carbon hitting me in the face. You mean we're NOT supposed to do that?
  7. Major? In 38 SC? I'm glad we don't have to do that in ICORE.
  8. I switched from a G-17 to CZ Shadow last fall. I noticed the same thing, and I'm thinkng it's because of the smaller ejection port as relates to the Glock and 1911's. It's not my imagination though.
  9. What does the rule book say about this practice? As for me, I've never "re-shot" a classifier. There are no do-overs in big matches. I don't care if your gun pukes, or you make a mental error, take the score because you earned it.
  10. I've trained leo's as a reservist on the county SO, and been an NRA Firearms Instructor since 1992. I've shot with my students in some classes and some not. It depends on who you're teaching and what material we're talking about. While training LE, I would shoot with them to demonstrate how easy it was, not to impress...just to take the edge off their nerves. To say, "Hey, you can do this..." I'll shoot with students that I'm training in IPSC, ICORE and Steel. You have to demonstrate techniques that can't be easily explained. Now, if we're talking about an NRA Basic Handgun Course, then, no...I won't. No real need to unless they take a more advanced course later. Each student is different. You have to get inside their head in a helpful way, because no two people are alike.
  11. I shot a couple of mags through one. It seemed to throw one out of the group every now and then. It could've been me, but I think it was the gun.
  12. I started in August, 1989. It's hard to believe it's almost been 20 years. I'm 41, so that's nearly half my life.
  13. Speed in ICORE... You really..Really...REALLY can't miss fast enough to win. We've tried.
  14. I've seen 9mm Wolf spark in pistols. That's some HOT ammo.
  15. What he said! I bought a Shadow from Angus at the CZ Custom Shop after Stuart answered a few questions. Everything he said was right on.
  16. I'm very sorry for your loss. Nothing hurts more than losing a close family member.
  17. Kyle... is this the a**hole you shot with...? Gordo... I was down your way shooting a steel match at LSS. Where were you?
  18. Rob, Production rocks! Minor scoring in that division makes you focus more on hits.
  19. Vanek is like Coca-Cola... It's the real thing. Get a Vanek.
  20. 58!!! Happy birthday, Bubber!
  21. almost two, actually. in 1988 roger douchy in a peugeot went 258. jean-lois schlesser in the mercedes-sauber C9 went 252. then, this started happening...next thing you know, chicanes came in. Good shot.
  22. Stock car racing went to hell when the cars stopped having vin numbers. I miss the days of David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, King Richard Petty, Bobby and Donnie Allison. Those were the days! David Pearson / Wood Brothers crica 1971 Cale, Richard and David circa 1977. You can actually tell the cars are different makes. Bobby Allison giving a young Dale Earnhardt a hard time!
  23. You nailed it. If the rules weren't clear, it wasn't the membership's fault; we didn't write them. And, we shooters shouldn't have to pay for that mistake. IMHO, the BOD needs to remember it's the members of USPSA that matter the most.
  24. USPSA members should pay close attention to the outcome and vote accordingly. Every member I've seen, heard, read or otherwise is sick of this. Excercise your right to voice your opinion when the time comes.
