Thanks for the laugh... Merry Christmas!
  2. I realize that rev, I tried the max using Clays 38 spcl data and saw that it was WAY under powered, that's how I came up with the 4.0 load. 357 Mag data lists 4.6 grns as max so I felt I was safe. Now, back to RickB, if your looking for a load for a 20-30 yr old airweight, then don't use the above, if your looking for a load for a 38/357 mag revo then the posted load of 3.9/4.0 might do the trick. AND !!! that's with a plated Berry's type soft lead or lead rnd nose load, all bets are off if you switch to jacketed bullet heads. +1
  3. Damn. I've been at it 20 years and that's a new one. Hope he'll be OK.
  4. Don't but a PACT. Customer service is horrible.
  5. 3.9 grains of Clays is a 127 PF in my 627. Very tight chrono numbers too.
  6. I have a new Shadow SP-01, as well. It does the very nasty jam that you're talking about. It'll do it with Winchester whitle box, reloads..all ammo. I'll be trying a 10 lb. spring the CZ Custom Shop sent me in the coming days. I'll post the results.
  7. Agreed, Richard. Simple should be the way it's done. The notion that some match official would be tearing into our guns looking for a .25 set-screw is ridiculous.
  8. Isn't that division called L10? Oops... Double action/Safe-action Power floor. Minor scoring only, 125... noted.
  9. Production rules could be simple: No comps No porting No optics No frame mods, unless otherwise noted Have a max/min wieght 10 rounds in mags Minor power floor scoring @ 125 Double action/Safe-action Let them race!
  10. These continued attempted restrictions actually hurt the new shooter. Here's why: I ran a G-17 with a Vanek trigger for a good long while. I made Master with that rig after a long lay-off from back surgery. I added that mod when I was ready...in other words, when I could afford to. Recently, I purchased a CZ SP-01 Shadow from Angus at the CZ Custom shop. It's a great gun and I look forward to enjoying it. But, I had to put all that money up front because that's how it comes from the factory. Most of the little guys and gals just starting out will go and buy a Glock, or some other gun at a big box store, or local gun shop with no mods. As they improve their skills, they'll want to make their guns better. We're locking out them of that process. We're telling them if they want an all-out Production gun, they can't take that route. Ever. We're telling them they must buy a certain gun to be on a level plaing field, and that's not what Production was intended for.
  11. Rhandy Rhoads was the greatest metal guitarist of all time. R.I.P.
  12. Congrats! Enjoy every single one of them.
  13. Yes. You need a full profile mag-well for the single stack. For years, the Smith & Alexander was a must have for those guns. They make a great product. A little later, I discovered a fellow named Otto Matyska (314-638-3327). He made great comps, but also had an incredible mag-well that was welded to the frame of the gun. Of course, I had to ship my gun to him, but boy, was it worth it. The big advantages was that it had interchangeable mainspring housings, an innovation at the time (We're talking 1989!). i.e. flat, semi-arched and full arched. This allowed the shooter to change the pitch of the muzzle with ease, unlike the S&A, which the housing is part of the well itself. The other advantage was the mag-well wrapped around the front of the gun, which made for a more reliable grip during the draw and coming out of the reload. This is the S&A type, or semi-profile: Notice how the well ends at the front strap. The is a full profile: A bigger opening does help as it guides your hands into the right spot every time. Hope this helps!
  14. This guy is probably from Louisiana, shoots the Gator Classic and I ususally see him at A4. If I'm not mistaken he's a "B" class shooter. He really is amazing to watch, and inspirational. Like we got something to bitch about. Al, That's got to be him. Where I saw him shooting was at a USPSA match in Amite, LA. Oldtrooper Oldtrooper, you are refering to Joe Touchton. He has two hands but his right hand has very limited use. He uses his weak hand to clear jams but at waist level. When reloading a revolver, he opens the cylinder, dumps the empties, lays the gun across his weak hand, reloads, and he's off to the races. And yes he a B class shooter and deservingly so. Joe is an amazing shooter. The first time I saw him shoot, I was astounded!
  15. Agreed, Joe4. What Joe4 is saying is, "It depends on whose ox is being gored" when we're talking about our rights. We have to protect the weakess among us, and those we don't care for to maintain our rights. Good point Joe4. But, I hate that he went into a hotel room with a band of thugs and someone could've been shot and killed. That kind of crap cuts into our Second Amendment rights, in the long run. He's acted like he's had a blank check to do whatever he wants, since his acquittal... Society finally said, "No." You can't do this... And expect to remain a free man. What kind of a sicko writes a book called, "If I did it?" after the trial of the century? He tried to rub people's nose in it. It finally caught up to him. Good. What a dumbass.
  16. Your Justice Is Served... This thread isn't about race, and let's keep it that way. Please.
  17. I've had the same 550 for 18 years. I love it.
  18. No. I sent mine back 4 times over the course of 5 years. I will never buy another product from them. Ever. They were not easy to deal with, either. It was the worst dealings I've ever had with a company in the the shooting sports.
  19. How did he shoot himself? If it was a normal Glock with the 5 & /12 lb. connector, I'd say 5 & 1/2 pounds of pressure was applied to the trigger safety and trigger. The muzzle was also pointing at something he didn't intend to destroy as per the 2nd Law Of Gun Safety.
