Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I just found this post which is old but I have to ask. I called GG&G and the machinist says he gets calls about this retrofit from the Benelli to the Beretta and says it will not work. Did you have to machine this part to fit the 1301??? It's more of an issue with the front ... Thanks, Racine
  2. It was a windless morning. The wind didn't pick up till after 3 pm, hours later.
  3. The last squad forgot to reset the last 4 targets. The CRO and MD argued that since those 2 shooters didn't make it past the halfway mark those un-reset targets were irrelevant. My argument, which was denied, was that the course of fire should be the same for every shooter regardless. What I'm seeing is even though they insisted on equal rules for every shooter to the RO briefings it did not apply in this case. What is frustrating is seeing some ROs there give reshoots to known local shooters for arbitrary reasons-again Outlaw 3gun... Thanks, Racine
  4. I don't know if they are still in business but I was able to find the stronger steel springs to refit and that has helped tremendously. I love these shell holders but I found some carbon arms that work almost as easy. You can also take the replaced spring and double up the others like I did and that works just as well...
  5. In retrospect what I've liked about the golf bag idea is that when weather comes in all my guns are protected from blowing sand, rain, etc. It was very cost effective and a way of recycling old golf equipment sitting around my garage.
  6. I was at recent 3 gun match, a shotgun stage. Several shooters never made it to the finish with a round count nearing 40. The first one to do so realized that 2 poppers were never set for our squad and got a reshoot. The question is, should the first shooters who did not finish from running out of ammo deserve a reshoot from unset targets? Or should they take the penalties for not finishing the course of fire and FTEs? It's interesting that a local club RO ruled for a reshoot as did a nationally recognized 3gun master but the CRO and MD did not.
  7. I think there are some guys who game the field by using the "muzzle" or watch the 180" recklessly. Case in point on a videoed stage showing the shooter well within the 180 being wrongfully distracted on 2 different stages by the same RO. This same guy was loud, profane and made rude sexist comments around women all day. Once he refused to approve his score time after it had been verbally confirmed with the RO in front of him. My choice is to shoot elsewhere or request a different RO when my turn comes up. The MD and CRO are not receptive or like this guy.
  8. Okay now that I've got them I'm having trouble loading more than 17 rounds with an 11 coil CZC Spring in that 140 CZC base pad. Is there a modification I'm missing??? Wow I must be having a senior moment. Does the retainer get used and is the retainer block installed in the back of the mag??? Thanks, I'm out of ideas. Racine
  9. Very sound tips. I do plan on a fourth and fifth mag, just right now. I've loaded for Glocks at 1.25-1.130 for years but I had to ask as I use 180 TC Molys and I'm glad to hear your experience. I may wait to see how the Springers turn out and go from there. Thanks again, Racine
  10. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I agree that the TF are bombproof but a pain to deal with in dusty, gritty ranges. I liked the Dawson base pads but I chose CZ bases based on these recommendations. I just got 3 CZC base pads and springs, IPSC magwell, FO front/adj. rear, Cajun metal trigger and will get the extended thumb safety when they get back in stock. The "medium" aluminum "extra thin" side panels are next as well. Thanks a bunch for sharing. BTW, CZC strongly suggests I load to SAAMI spec for 40sw. Is that your experience as well?? Best, Racine
  11. So once the magazine release is reversed, how are the right sided magazine releases and are the magazines good to go or are there modifications needed to the magazine bodies?? Kind of reminds me of working on A5 or Remy 11 shotguns.
  12. I just got one of these after breaking the slide on my 35. I started with reliable Taylor Freelances on those but loved the easy access of the Dawson's versions. Now with the CZ what company makes them with easy access for cleaning?? Thanks for any suggestions up front. I've read through the CZ topics to page 17 but still can't find a definitive answer. I'm grateful for suggestions.
  13. I thought that measurement for Limited or Tactical was 1"X 3"? The SJC is 1"X 3+" or am I measuring this wrong?
  14. Hopalong, When you said "..The break that I have holds the gun pretty much level..." what kind of break did you install? I'm readying my M1A stock for 3gun but mostly for fun. Did you add a ghost ring rear and NM front? Thanks.
  15. I'm considering purchasing a TS for Limited but would prefer a right sided mag release. Can the mag release be switched over for my trigger finger to hit? I'm also thinking that for lim. I may want to get a fiber optic front, extended base pads, metal trigger, a heavier extractor spring and metal guide rod. Any other suggestions? Thanks up front folks and have a Merry Christmas!
