I can second everyone's recommendation at using the jager guiderod with a 13 pound spring, I'm using one on my 34.5 and really like the impulse.

A lot of dots that cater to the competitive market seem to have poor battery life. Dots like the FTP 2 offer a lot of what competitive shooters want but I can't get myself to purchase one because the battery life is so small.

On my belt i always have one 170 that I typically start the stage with, one 155mm, and then a 140. I, like many have said on this thread, find the 140 good for reloads on a classifier.

I have a wide frame open gun and just zero'd my 510c on it with a tevo mount, it sits slightly off center and doesn't make a difference at the ranges i shot it at.

I fortunately havn't had an issue making chrono with my long loaded PD's out of my 5'' KKM barrel on my limited gun, at Area 5 it clocked in at 169.9.

I hope they go with a bull barrel for it and not the cone comp, that alone would be a huge improvement.

I wish they would have thought out the wording to some of these questions in the survey more, yes to enhance or yes to diminish?

I agree and think that the appetite for a new league is growing amongst the up and coming gen Z shooters, many see the ongoing drama with the BOD and a "behind the times" ruleset in some aspects are contributing to this feeling. Something may not happen soon but there will be a competitor league eventually. This forum is hardly representative of shooting culture to begin with, many shooters are organizing themselves on other platforms like discord and instagram; this isn't the early 2000's any more and message boards and forums are not the way that many interface with the larger community. People may think that uspsa is invincible or has staying power but history shows all organizations come and go, especially when some aspects of it don't appeal to new shooters. Rules about SAO not being allowed in certain divisions, 40sw -which is a dead caliber anywhere else-, and rules against leg strap holsters all need reconsidering.

Yeah why on earth would I bother talking to my friends or try and introduce new people to the sport? This is besides the point though about how gun culture's tastes and preferences are shifting with technology. SAO will eventually come to carry optics whether people like it or not.

The firearms that are at market or coming to market represent how expectations have shifted and technology will continue to change; thinking of this a generational attitude issue complete misses the point.

Although im not the poster you're replying to I do have thoughts on this. Its not a simple question of removing the magwell or not but how the next generation of shooters view USPSA culture and its also representative of how gun culture and expectations are shifting. For example one group of new shooters that i've introduced to USPSA who are in college came out to their first uspsa match and brought their carry guns which also happen to have carry magwells. When i told them that they'd have to remove their magwells to compete in carry optics they were initially very confused about this because in their view, carry optics is for "carry guns" and their carry guns have magwells so why couldn't they compete with their carry guns? Many in the group felt that this rule was out of touch and didn't hesitate to label some aspects of USPSA as "fud rules". Tastes and preferences for what a carry gun has shifted as has gun technology. Many guns from the factory, like the sig 365 x macro now are coming with compensators and people are carrying them, is this not a factory gun that is in common usage? What happens when consumers come to expect a "carry comp" to come standard on new weapons? USPSA rules have formed because they were a reaction to emerging equipment not necessarily anticipatory and that that in my view is a part of the issue.

The US marshals have already adopted staccatos as their service pistol and they are equipped with a DDP. Im sure there are other departments that are considering them. to think about the coming outdatedness of the uspsa ruleset consider this: if you had to create a shooting fed/league from the ground up today, what divisions would you make for it? What factors would you consider when thinking about these divisions, i'm confident many people would use common usage as some reference point to help them think.

In my view the rules for uspsa are a product of reacting to developments in competitive technique and technological advancement in firearms which is not beneficial to the future at all. The rules are constantly changing because they are a reaction to shifting gun culture and tech and people are trying to fit new advancements into existing boxes. Many of the innovations that were born in competitive shooting are becoming more and more common place: - compensators? many manufacturers are now offering guns with comps out of the box - red dots? no question - flared magwells? many are adopting magwells on their carry guns now. I have zero issue with SAO guns in carry optics but it really isn't a solution; there is eventually going to be a need to overhaul the divisions given the shifting tastes and preferences of the gun community and what is in common use.

chill man, i stated people shouldn't get caught up in the marketing and think that certain grip strengths will work for exclusively for whatever gun or grip; i was making a general point about all the varieties of 2011 grip modules and builds not a point exclusively about agw products. This is a point that you admit to when you stated that someone will have to tune their gun depending on the their needs when discussing "return to zero". If an agw video states that a certain grip textures will work better for certain grip strengths i caution people against this because its personal preference. AGW videos are marketing and promotional material and they function as that primarily. im not going to continue discussing this with someone who believes that i have "no idea" what im talking about because its only going to be from a position of bad faith further on.

I honestly don't know why you're getting so caught up in defending atlas when all I recommended was for people to try different grips for themselves and see what works. You can get circular reasoning with "its not based on the grip its based on the gun" whats the gun based on? peoples grips. What are the grips based on? they're based on the guns...ad nauseam.

The point that i'm trying to make is that different people have different hands and what works for them might not work for others and to not worry so much that when Adam states in a video "this grip is going to work for medium grips". I personally believe that people should just try different grips to see what personally works for them There isn't an exact science to "return to zero" outside of trial and error of a exponential combinations of springs, slide weights, loads, and every other element of firearm design. Return to zero is something that is going to vary a great degree from person to person, gun to gun, load recipe to load recipe. I just dont put too much weight to it consider how many variables there are.

Frame mounted, its going to be more stable and less consequently less abuse on the rds.

if you want to increase grip strength you can start dead lifting. 2011 grips come in so many different textures and sizes that its largely personal preference so I wouldn't get caught up in the atlas marketing thinking that certain grip strengths are required for certain grips. Try out a lot and find what works for you.

always fun to see someone try something different. honestly never expected to see someone compete with anything chambered in 45 outside of single stack.

I came from using the cz shadow 2 style mag release so when i switched to 2011 I used the limcat mag paddle. Once you find an orientation on the paddle that works for you I found that the risk of dropping the mag is minimal.

Mark built me a limited sight block gun and couldn't be happier. I first knew of this work because I shoot with many people that have his guns and then met him personally at a local match. He stands behind his work.

If you want to stick with CZ you can't go wrong with picking up a TSO for limited. I shot a TSO for last year's season and I was very pleased with it. I shoot a 2011 now and I sometimes miss the no-fuss mags that I had for the CZ.

fair point, it would be nice to see more PCCs with scorpion or mpx mag options.

All i gotta say is that you better be rocking some jean short shorts to complete the look.
